what does it mean when you get fucking awful cramps in your middle toe on your right foot and most of your right leg when swimming?

Someone at work said it happens when you're unfit but no fucking way is that the case :snooty:

Might be sharks

Could just be dehydration?

Umm.. I think it has to do with how much physical labor you do while swimming, if you're about to go swim as fast as you can, then you will easily get cramp/s on your foot/s. Moreover it depends with what swimming style do you swim, since every other style contracts different muscles. Therefor different places where cramps might appear. Don't hold me for my word though, I'm not sure. :1eye:

Um if you want the real reason it's because you have deprived your muscle of it's primary fuel ( oxygen ) and it's been forced to work anaerobically .This result in the build up of lactic acid which results in cramps .
In other words you are working in a way that is overtaxing the specific muscle which is cramping.
Doesn't mean that all of you is unfit just a certain part.

Also could have to do with the water being cold not allowing proper blood flow and then the muscle wouldn't get enough oxygen either.

The swimming is probably exercising muscles you don't normally use. Not that you're unfit, just that one muscle is unfit. So it is cramping.

Kind of like the way your head hurts when you post, right?

If you stop swimming then the cramps should stop. Don't do anything physical and go back to just sitting in the dark in front of your PC. Then only your head will hurt when your brain cramps.

Idol's diagnosis is correct.

To easily verify the truth of it, swim using the other leg only.

The resulting physical spectacle will amuse any onlookers, as well.

Win.
