From the bill:

(2) may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network;

Doesn't look like they'll be shutting the internets down totally. Leave it to politicians to write a confusing as hell statement though,

That's what I thought.
As usual leave it to the media to twist the truth and blow it all out of proportion.

"Presidential "kill-switch" for the Internet?" :lol:

If its just the government-related sites, who the hell cares =/. Wheeee, I can't access my favorite 600 page bill I read everyday over breakfast, the government is taking away my rights.

...

I heard conservative radio giving crap about this law (and obviously as a weapon against obama). As tesco said, blown out of proportion.

I can assure you I am totally serious at least half the time.

Apparently the Left in America has your confidence.

Here's a question for you:

What if it were 2003, instead of 2009?
