Online Gaming Is Being Killed By Cheating

I've been playing games for ages now, and about 4 years ago got into online gaming, and it was a revolution (or so i felt) however is anyone finding it less and less atractive as more people cheat.

I used to be a real fan of c&c red alret 2 but i can't remember the last time i joined a game where someone hadn't hacked it useless

what would the solution be then, people are always going to cheat and some hacks are admitted pretty funny and on ocassion they actually add to the game, could this be fixed simply by reconfiging serves and allowing dedicated "clean rooms", or does battlenet have the right idea and increase moderation and kick cheaters off???

It’s good to know most people agree with me, but as I said I acknowledge some people do want to cheat and get a joy out reinventing games indeed where would counter strike have been without peoples contributions it this that made it so great I guess.

I think blizzard runs a pretty good serve and I play Diablo 2 a lot consequently

I think westwoods command and conquer series has been killed by cheaters, do any of the rest of you have games you think have remained pretty good or been actually enhanced by cheating? :D

Or if your favourite game has been ruined by cheats what is it? :(

if the server op didn&#39;t set the rule, just play along.

Dunno why you guys are making such a big deal out of it, I have rarely come across a cheater in any online games I have played... maybe thats because I just get people I know and play with... I mean come on this is the internet, for us no lifers it easy to do that... stop complaining and play a game, if they cheat they will get kicked...
It hasnt ruined anything and its not making people play games less, and for those who do wish to cheat its there choice, I personally find it crappy considering no one would want to join a game with them afterwards plus it takes away the fun of it all...

I&#39;ve cheated once and awhile with aimbots and speedhacks on TFC but it gets boring very quickly, i prefer the specate hacks in tfc where you can fly around as a dead medic some spec hacks add to the game there quite funny actualy, but alot the spec hacks dont work anymore.

I see cheating is a bit of fun but if you do it too often it&#39;s just plain annoying.

I ruins the overall fun for everyone. I have never actually seen anyone cheat though. I am too busy running around.

GPA means nothing. You can answer all the questions the way your teacher wants.
What you do with that information counts. How you conduct your life and build your character counts.
If you are of good character around friends and family, but an anonymous jerk to strangers online, your good character means nothing.

There was a man in the past 5 years I think that had great skills with computers. What did he do? He hacked. He stole.

He got caught.

Now he is out of jail and forbidden from ever working with, around, or in the computer industry.

i have only been offically l33t at one game, and that was Rainbow Six Rouge Spear i was soo good at that game, better then any clan... then that game got bombarded by cheaters so i quit playing it and i try playing it now and i suck lol

the only other game im good at is UT, im almost l33t but not quite that good yet...

I play StarCraft: BroodWars and I&#39;ve been at that game for about 5 or more years. I&#39;m good at Melee games and Use Map Settings.

And yes, there are cheaters or hackers are using MapHacks, NameSpoofers, Impersonator Hacks (lets you say things using other peoples names, which makes it scary, if that person says something like "lets backstab player white" etc.) and the most new and nasty hack the DropHack (let&#39;s the hacker drop you out of the game if your winning by crashing your StarCraft game. Ultimately making you restart your com).

Yes these things are out there. But I use some hacks myself, because without them I am actually at a dis-advantage. If the player sees the whole map and I see nothing isn&#39;t that cheap and unfair, why not download a program such as AllyAlert that tells you who&#39;s cheating and use the same cheats they are.

In the end I DO use hacks, because in my experience, if you don&#39;t your gonna suck and be at total dis-advantage. Because your enemy is and he isn&#39;t gonna play fair. Why should you?

I played tanarus (sony game) about 2 years and the game was teeming with cheaters and hacks.

it was an arm race. whenever a cheat comes out everybody downloads and uses it in game, then a patch comes out. then new cheats....

it just gets boring after that.

so it kind of makes sense to use cheats to level the playing field when everybody uses cheats.

cheaters in unreal tournament are kinda killing the game, theres been alot of cheating in the past months, that is just leaves me mad and breatheless. If someone is suspected of botting tho, we just have a majority vote and kick him/her.

just play the game regularly man, you say you have so much skill from playing games for so long. But doesnt cheating with an aimbot or wall hack just take from that skill. Your not using it if you use programs with the game to cheat. Think how that effects the non cheaters, totally ruins the game, cause they have no chance to compete agaisnt your &#39;skill&#39; with there skill. i wonder how long itll take hl2 to be over ridden with cheaters like yourself.
