i have a few mp3s encoded at 192kbps that i downloaded...i wanna encode them at 128kbps so that they would fit into a cd [don't ask why...long story]

is there any particular software to do this? please post a link to the download page if there is :) ...noob here

I think that can be done in MMJB for example

MMJB (http://www.musicmatch.com/download/plus/jukebox_intro.htm?OS=pc&mode=input&DID=999991574&OEM=CJJ)

Since the song length is the same when you re-encode, its not going to make a difference what the bitrate is. Disks are only 15 cents, be brave, use two. ;)

decompress it to a .wav, then reencode with whatever, at whatever bitrate you desire.

thanks to all who replied with solutions, checked them all out...and especially, snny...cdmaster is a babe...i mean literally, it asked so many questions at installation, made me remember an old girlfriend..but once you start working with it, its a cool program

it doesn't make much sense writing 16mb to a 700mb cd, does it?

plus, song length remains the same, but the file size reduces

thanks :)
