As many of you know I have been:

- Nobody1234
- Somebody1234

It's time for a new one. I was wondering what you think I should use for my next one?

I already have a few ideas but I'm curious what you have to say. http://www.mcbriens.net/liam/img/smilies/w00tjump.gif

Any recommendations ?

Last night someone mentioned "anyone1234". You need to have an avatar of a large group of John Doe's.

After that you can be "everyone1234"

Just use a name that show which person you feel to be inside your thoughts :)
a name which describes your character in your eyes best... :)

I use sha're@KaZaA, I got this name from a stargate sg1 series. It describes me in my thoughts and to feel free...

Former of me on Kazaa was dcn30@KaZaA: It stands for my name
David Christopher Nierzwicki, Birthdate: 30.03.1983.

I also have used the default name when using pTrack where you can use more
kazaa usernames... but these two were my mainly ones...

thanks anyway, david.

Is there any way to reuse the same e-mail address when registering a new username?

I know I can get another email address but it would be more convenient to just use the same one.

tantric
10-05-2003, 05:11 AM
If the system insists that the email address be unique, couldn't you just set up a dummy address to register with and then change it to your old one once the new name is activated?
I take it this means you've chosen a new name?

Somebody1234
10-05-2003, 05:21 AM
Yes, I have chosen a new name.

But if I change e-mail address and use one that I already have won't that deactivate that username? What I mean is that when I try to change my e-mail address it tells me that I will have to resend the activation e-mail back before I can log back in. My concern is that it might deactivate the other account if I use it's e-mail address.

I hope that is clear enough.

Anyway I would just like to know why I cannot just sign-up using the same e-mail address?

dont know about the email thing btw

tantric
10-05-2003, 05:24 AM
Have you tried signing up with the same address, or are you just assuming you cannot?
I don't know whether changing the address once the account was active would have an adverse on you old account/s or not.

Somebody1234
10-05-2003, 05:29 AM
I have tried to sign-up with the same username. I get a message that says something to the effect of: "That e-mail address is already used here. Choose another"

you must be gagging to post somewhere somebody1234 I guess so... I was reading some stuff in HardwareWorld!

Yes, I see. I just tried myself.
However, if you'll only be using "Somebody1234" on an occasional basis, why not change the email address for it instead? Then you can use the address you are more accustomed to for the new name.

Somebody1234
10-05-2003, 05:35 AM
I think I will just end up with another hotmail account. I was just hoping that there would be a solution so that I don't end up with too many mailboxes.

tantric
10-05-2003, 05:38 AM
You are probably already aware of this, but just in case you're not I thought I'd mention it. If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, you can route all your hotmail addresses through it to make it easier to manage multiple accounts.

www.mailinator.com

this is a great site, can't remember who pointed it out to me, but it's very handy
basically, you make up an address, e.g. [email protected]
you don't have to sign up, no details are given etc...the mailbox is only created when an email actually comes, you login very easily, it's great

tantric
10-05-2003, 05:45 AM
That's a neat concept 3rd gen noob. It's not exactly secure, but would definitely come in handy for those "one time only" emails.
