from Astraweb (http://helpdesk.astraweb.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=2)

Can we connect from more than 1 IP address?
We limit access to 1 IP address per account at any one time for Unlimited use accounts. This is to discourage account sharing.

If you would like to connect from more than 1 IP address at the same time, we recommend you purchase our Pay by Download plans.

From xsnews unlimited signup page regarding sharing:

NIET toegestaan

Which translate to, NOT permitted.

Plus for the price, you could almost get 2 Astraweb accounts if you're fine paying 96 USD upfront each.

Of course, block accounts allow you to download from different IPs all at once, which can be handy in certain arrangements.

I share 3, ~200gb block accounts now with 2 other people as fill-in servers, in case of zombie apocalypse or what have you.

Our newsreaders haven't had the chance to need them yet though, it's only been 4-5 days though.

Astraweb being the underdog it is would be good to support anyhow, I can't imagine the costs they must have to hold currently ~391 days retention and hand out accounts 1/3rd give or take (depending on your promotion) the cost of the king.

That and they haven't changed the layout of their site for like 7 years, which is pretty rad.

Ah, it's only NOT permitted on the one I was looking at, the ELITE/unlimited one.

The others are limited to 5Mbit/4 connections or 20Mbit/8 connections, but allow account sharing.

There are Usenet providers that do allow sharing, it was mentioned in another thread...

Don't tell me you guys can't afford $11 a month? You don't have to seed, your bandwidth is maxed, and of course, Usenet get's pre'd almost the same time torrents do, if not exactly the same time, plus, once it does hit Usenet, your downloads will be 10x faster than it would downloading a torrent.

Usenet Provider Reviews, should have everything you need to know on one of these pages.
