George Best actually played for Northern Ireland!!

Was Gordon Strachan the Scottish player, or Archie Gemmill???

I agree with you about Greaves but no Maradona for Argentina. You must have been watching diferent games to me!!

No-one has mentioned Di Stefano, Milburn, Puskas or Duncan Edwards!! Shame on you all...... :P

Austarlia Should be Don Bradman ;)

Bradman was undoubtedly the Greatest Batsman of all time!! I am finding it a bit weird agreeing with you Adam... :o

What about Tony Polster from Austria?? He had (and probably still has) the BEST Mullet Haircut of any World Cup player   .

Romario for Brazil. A dazzling player, I've had the pleasure of seeing him play live and he was exceptional with his touch and movement. Brilliant player and a natural goalscorer!!

;)

I love the phrase I saw him play live.

That's so much better than after they have passed on.

What about Ian Botham, greatest all rounder ever. I have only ever seen him on TV, but I assume he was still with us at the time.

I could've phrased it better but I'm knackered having just got back from work. Sorry!! I think Romario's in the land of the living at present but who knows??

Papin was a good striker for France and AC Milan so I think he deserves a mention too.
