max cpu die temp is usually 80 degrees celsius or above
50 degrees is not too hot at all...

have a look for your cpu there...

my cpu generally runs at approx 50 idle, anything above 50 or so, i would consider too hot

my cpu usually hangs around 55-60, right now it's idle and it's about 57

when I play games it goes up to 60.

I place my computer in the corner of the room with no windows near by.

so my room gets kinda warm when my computer gets busy.

"saves some money on gas eh?"

I was running my Athlon XP 2200+ overclocked to 1937 mhz with the stock heatsink and fan and had idle temps of about 45-48 and while playing games it went up to about 52-54. I have since gotten a Thermaltake Volcanoe 9 heatsink and fan and overclocked to 1953 mhz plus the temp has dropped dramatically where I am from and my CPU temp is at about 35 at idle and goes to about 44 while playing games .

Im overclocking my AMD XP 2500+ to 2070 mhz right now, and its pretty much 49 idle and 54 load, with stock fan and heat sink, and then one front and one back case fan.

But 50's isnt too hot, although personally I usually worry if its idling about 58-59, and constantly going up into the 60's, but thats just because my setup shouldnt be doing that.
