I thought house on haunted hill the remake was scary (the original had vincent price in it i think) anyway it was ok. I went to see it with two girls both over 18 one started crying and the other one hid under her coat fior the whole movie.

I think after you've watched a few you're pretty much immune to them. I can't remember the last horror that I watched that even mildly disturbed me, but some of the earlier Evil Dead and Day of the Dead type films were OK, I suppose. More gore than suspense though really. What were those ones with the character Pinhead in them? You know, the one with the Chinese puzzle cube in and all that, where hell opens up and demons start torturing the person who owns the cube. The first one of those wasn't bad, from what I remember.

If you really want full effect from any horror, watch it with the lights out, at night, and sit with your back close to an open window. Sleep deprivation and drugs help too  ;)

The Omen.

Also Jaws and Friday the 13th. Now not all that scary, but just be in the water, any water......beach, pool, tub, and hear that theme music.

Same as the music for Friday 13th.

Then again... if you hear dueling banjos playing and your in the woods....

(OK, this post - http://www.klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=3462 - is BS - I tried to post a link, and it didn't work. I guess you can copy the sig2dat link from the code and paste it into your Address bar... (can someone tell me how to make the links?))

That would be Guinea Pig, and I happen to be sharing the second one, linked above.

http://disturbed.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?q=Y&a=...=8026098634&p=1 (http://disturbed.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=602604117&f=714604209&m=8026098634&p=1)

Here is a discussion on the Disturbed boards about disturbing movies. With all due respect to this board, they're way ahead of you. No offense. They don't have Sig2dat links (in fact it is impossible to post them there) but they have a better list of movies. I'd make a list but thought it better to just link to the discussion.

I'm "dark reality" there kinda the same as here.

I heard that The Eye was being remade in America. Apparently, The Ring made enough money, they're looking at other Japanese horror films. Maybe they'll bring over "Battle Royale." That was a good one, and I got it on Kazaa. Here's the verified whatever. I don't know how to put links in. Someone posted a how to, but it didn't work for me so f*ck it.

scariest, i think the Titanic... the suspense on what's going to happen...!

well i'm thinking in the line of Jaws - The Alien series.... and yes Blair witch was good.

the exorcist, friday the 13th, jason, freddy, omen...seen them all...none had any effect on me. blair witch project is definitely spooky. once, i saw it early morning [don't ask why] and i wasn't able to do anything properly for the rest of the day. had to beg my then girlfriend to have a sleepover, and she got spooked by all the above ones.

anyway, someone said it right, watch a horror movie with lights out, in the dark with back to the window [preferably open]. :o

Those movies with pinhead are hellraiser, one and two are ok but then they lost the plot somewhat with three , bunch of bollox.
I must recomend the original evil dead uncut, the bit where the girl at the window starts naming the playing cards she cant see, and the floating cackiling contorting her body into death rigor poses... and then the PENCIL! aaaggghhh, but anyway, oh and the tree rape, Ringu and the ring are both good though ringu made my flesh crawl a little bit more than ring.
the thing is a good action horror, zombie, dawn of the dead is a classic, low budget effects aside, what an eerie soundtrack, pure class.
As is day of the dead.
Demons and others by Dario Argento.
that one with the space vampires, and the shuttle, with jl picard as a bleeding doctor, haha, cant remember its name.
And many many more can be yours with the great and almighty kazaa-lite, the worlds premier p2p software package, no computer should be without it!
D2D :D slightly mad...
P.S. your right about the drugs, they really help to make you paranoid , like, were all being watched all the time anyway, you all know that?

Yeah The Ring was much scarier than Ringu but one thing Ringu had on The Ring was the scene where Sadako (Samara) is crawling out of the TV. In the US version, no big deal. OK, when she "fast-forward moved" it was kinda creepy, but not really. Now in the Japanese version, first of all her fingernails are all broken off, and rightly so as she just crawled up and out of a well. Secondly, the eye... I don't mean that other movie... I mean Sadako's eye... that scene is on the Japanese cover... it's *almost* as scary as the girl's face in the beginning, when she comes into the room... if you have VHS you miss that scene as they took it out but it was in the theatrical and it was certainly on the DVD. I freeze framed and screen captured that shit and put it on the net! LOL!

The face of that girl they flash up on the screen for a second on the ring was pretty freaky I thought.
You're probably going to hate me for this but...

LOL!
Any idea where we can see that pic? [/b][/quote]
Scroll up to the top of page 5 where I gave the link. If you miss it, I think two people quoted it further down, and their quotes also contain the link, giving us a total of 3 links to http://www.geocities.com/bookofomens/scary.htm .... oops that's 4 links to it now... the scariest images on the Net and if you have anything better, submission information IS on the page, so hook me up!

I thought The Ring (U.S. Remake) Came in and cut down all those crappy slasher flicks like wheat before the scythe. The visual style was amazing, the suspense tense and there was almost NO comic-relief!

Yeh the US remake make was ok,but don't you think the Original Ringu was a lot better and scarrier.
My opinion is that Ringu was 100% more scarrier then the remake.
