Going off topic:
I Read about a site called NewSceneFiles.ne in a article. Is a direct download site similar to SceneDDL.The site is 6 weeks old. I have not registered so I can not give a opinion on it. I read it has over 3,000+ files.
Also read it is Rapidshare only but am not sure?

If I was to subscribe to a a Rapishare or a Megaupload account.
Which is better concerning content and security?
Have not ventured outside Bt in a while. Not sure if I want to.

Yes its only rapidshare links on that site. When it comes to security i`d say both sites are pretty good just use the security lock on your rapidshare + dont be stupid and fell for phishing sites.

I don't understand the need for those sites for most bittorrent/nzb site users. You can see what is released on your site of choice and if you're just looking for screenshots, might as well wait for retail...

Umm i don't know why you would use direct download such as rapidshare or megaupload to get scene content if you already have good trackers/usenet since it much faster that way and content gets uploaded to usenet and trackers first. I personally dont use BT, but everything that is not available on usenet I obtain through direct download.

i pointed out rlsmix.net simply because its a good source of info and gets updated frequently. also hotfile is generally free user friendly, in my experience, but if you have tracker/usenet why use ddl? I mainly use ddl for 720p movie encodes and music I cannot find on usenet.

as far as security goes, no ddl host provides ssl, but it's way safer than torrents imo
if you worried about getting phished pay with prepaid visa and separate paypal and pay attention to what links you click
you could also get a rapidleech hosting, which boosts the speed of most ddl hosts rather than just one, rapidshare is a ripoff imo
also you could probably go with out having premium megaupload since their free account also give great speed, you just cant do multiple files at a time

TV shows are usually posted within 5mins of pre (Usenet).

Just lurk on #a.b.teevee and you'll see.

Just went through my history and the last release that was posted (while the client was open) was:

[22:40] <@ABGod> Thank You [*Anonymous*] Request Filled! ReqId:[7759] [FULL Crisis.Claims.And.Cons.S01E06.WS.PDTV.XviD-watbath] Info:[Requested by:*Anonymous* 2m 29s ago Comments:0 Watchers:0] [Pred 3m 40s ago]

Why not check this instead? (ps direct downlaod are worthless compared to Usenet, you can get 100GB download for like $5 or something similar at block news)....

http://www.orlydb.com/

Or even go to to EFNET: http://www.efnet.org/?module=servers

Join random server and join our channel? (they generally fill from private trackers, so torrents might get them sooner, but most of the time pre is less than 2 mintues after pre... :) and is mostly less than 5 mintues and is always less than 10 mintues....

#a.b.teevee

Then you will know the second they pre :) and once there filled you will know the instance their added to the indexed or filled, or you just grab them from IRC, here' a great IRC client to get you started.

http://www.kvirc.net/?id=download

RLSlog gets there shit quick, but it's a direct download, you will see them there, but less than 5 minutes later there on Usenet with max speed and no speed limit....

Here's another fast post:

[16:33:33] <@ABGod> Thank You [*Anonymous*] Request Filled! ReqId:[7865] [FULL The.Super.Hero.Squad.Show.S01E14.DSR.XviD-DVSKY] Info:[Requested by:*Anonymous* 1m 29s ago Comments:0 Watchers:0] [Pred 1m 23s ago]

Also note that it depends on the size, obviously a 720p rls is going to get posted slower than a xvid dsr.

@SoL: I prefer Usenet to p2p even if it's a few seconds slower than the hardcore 0day trackers. Nothing is worse than the ratio, politics, donating, insecurity on trackers.

I actually do check ORLY, however the appeal of a site like this one are the content descriptions/reviews and trailers.

the pre-times and whatnot don't really matter to me. does 10 min or even a day make that much of a difference? I'll download something when its up and enjoy it when I have time. It's similar checking the nzb index on this site, or somewhere else, imo

Also, I dont agree with your comment "ps direct downlaod are worthless compared to Usenet" - there is a lot of content available on ddl that you wouldn't find on usenet, and visa versa, so each has its own advantages

obviously rlsmix is not the best way to get scene content, but I've actually seen a few releases up on there that I couldn't find on usenet, and there is a lot of other material that I cannot find on usenet

sidenote - thanks for the link to the IRC client. Is it better than mIRC - thats the only one I've used

If you like Scene/DDL then look at AfterPre and SceneDDL.

I don't think I've ever seen a site like SceneDDL, even AfterPre is no fair comparison to it.

Sadly P2P releases are looked down upon when requesting on Usenet and most channels just delete the request: no p2p.

There are some decent p2p groups (mostly in x264). DEViSE/SecretMyth should get a special mention.

I only like scene/ddl for content that not available on usenet, otherwise, what's the point?

It is true that there are good p2p releases that are not on usenet, but there are also a lot of of good releases in the ddl world, especially on forums, hd-united and hd-bb being some of my favorites

Well of course there will be different content, the big time groups eg...altbin only do scene, same with teevee, the only p2p one they upped that I can remember was the one I requested (Sons Of Anarchy-FHW )....but still man, DDL do not compare to Usenet, there more expensive, who wants to wait to download 100 parts of a game, or even if you pay for ti, it's still more than Usenet, or by limited on their speed, if you don't pay? I only use DDL sites if I "have" "have" 'to'. I can one, find it on Usenet, by looking for a "different naming" method, or request, or "upload" to help the community, cough cough :whistling

With Usenet retention going up every day, there's a less and less of a gap between NG's and DDL, and Torrents for that matter, torrents are being looked at more (cops), DDL providers are giving out info (to cops) uploader and downloaders, and Usenet as far as anyone can tell at this point is only watching out for child porn, well except Giganews that deletes everything. But they would give up info, but if your using SSL it's only you and your news provider, and don't see anyone getting in trouble unless your upload Miley Cyrus porn.

What the hell are you doing on DDL sites then?

Usenet is better imo. All you need to know is a few IRC cmds and learn to read. There's even a thread on requesting on Usenet (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-guides-and-tutorials-65/t-how-request-stuff-irc-351356). TV shows posts, after pre, are no comparison to DDL posts (for the better).

Also you only need to pay a small monthly fee for unlimited GB's and no waiting.

$15/mo for Unlimited Speed/Download is a win win.

As I've stated on numerous occasions, I use ddl for content that's not available on usenet. Sure I could request, but say I want a foreign album that doesn't necessarily apply to any particular newsgroup and is non scene. In the time I spend clusterfucking on IRC, I can easily download the ~70mb file through ddl, even if its through rapidshit, multiple times. Just to have you know I do use usenet frequently, and I both pay/not pay for it. Personally, I would like to join a tracker like what.cd where everything I want is (probably) available right away, but I am not too happy about all the ratio crap, and I don't want to do any p2p from my internet connection.

I pretty much agree with you, but the price/speed kinda depends. I believe megashares offers similar content to usenet at a cheaper price, although I would have to say usenet is better since it has more content and ssl. Personally I have never paid for any ddl account, and you have tools like jdownloader to help you out. Also i get about equal speed from free megaupload and free IPv6, so that's basically my argument. And I never dl 100 game part files from rapidshare but rather 1gb parts from megaupload:P

In a perfect world, all the content that we want would be available on usenet, and free IPv6 would also have SSL . . . but teh world is not so:(
