Weird Uses Of Technology

I have a "video" friend who is putting together a short film/video/documentary whatever about "Weird uses of technology". He wanted me to help, so I told him about like video console modding, and those kinds of things. Anybody have any cool ideas or projects that they have heard about that encompasses the "Weird uses of technology"?

Anything really, pirating, modding, hacking, scams, payphones, engineering, TV, cpu, cars......

some ides I'll just throw out
gps - tracking pets/kids/people/cars
nano tech - alwas pretty cool
bio feedback - using computers without tuching just thinking

do some dodgy camera work of someone on p2p, it'll look cool. then play with small icons and pretend your hacking and people wont notice. point out whats wrong with everything thats ever been about technology in a film
