When i had Windows ME my scanner worked but now i have XP it doesnt :( I dont what its called, all it says is USB scanner, ive gone on my computer properties, hardware, device manager and then other devices and theres my usb scanner, ive gone on the properties of that and it says this for the device statue "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
Does any1 know how i can get it to work?

You need ot download the drivers and install them.

Somewhere on the scanner there should be written from which manufacturer it is and the model name. If you find these you can download the drivers form the net.

If it's a USB scanner Win/XP should automatically recognize a newly connected device. If you're having problems finding/installing drivers try connecting it while on-line and let XP find the drivers for you.

If all else fails you may be stuck since a lot of older(even if just a few years) scanners aren't compatible with Win/XP.
