Governments can be corrupt but they come and go and really we couldn't live without some sort of body that sees that certain things get done.
The police everyone hates them until you need them.
Religion on the other hand causes more wars than it solves , enslaves the stupid and oppresses the weak.
Besides that it's like a lottery - an opiate to the masses. You never have to actually strive toward anything because one day your number will come up and then everything is going to be OK.

I have no problem with belief in God btw just putzes telling me exactly what that belief should entail.

Religion seems to be the most voluntary one.

I realise that's not true for everyone, but I would guess that for most people there is more of a choice in religious terms than there is in police or government.

Example. I voted to not have police or government and nobody listened. I'm still subject to their rules and whims.

Religion on the other hand, I opted out of and nobody told me off or arrested me.

It used to be religion in the old days, but now it's power and money.. Look at the recent major wars and what caused them.. ww1, ww2, the cold war, etc..

Mostly religion and government, they go hand in hand. Both Cause a lot of conflicts but that ties in with the money and land, other selfish things. There are other problems as well. It is all about money these days (as said above), people trying to climb the career ladder, hidden agenda's. Politics are a real problem. Making people believe what they want them to believe to hide societies real problems. The media/news, also with all the propaganda. Wasting money that could be used for better things other than Fighting over oil and pride. I don't see any solution to the problem either. Not now or in the near future.

The 3 most volatile things ruled with passion, I've always considered,

Government or Politics (Same Thing)
Religion
Sport.

Otherwise normal rational people, any of the 3... Ruled with passion on the moment, can have devastating consequences.

Undrinkable water causes the most deaths in the world.

How can it be undrinkable if you have to drink it to get sick?

Nice new word. I like it.

As far as I know, lack of clean drinking water is the main cause of death in the world.

To say that people dying is bad for humanity is debatable.

A large percentage of deaths are somehow connected to money.

And killing a stripper is not murder because she is already dead on the inside.

So which religion do you thick muppets think does or did all of this damage to humanity. I'm assuming you mean something like Islam which preaches jihad. It can't be one of the religions which preaches treating other people well.

Skweeky

Islam doesn't do that either, it's people with a serious lack of common sense who choose to interpret it that way.

I was trying to explain to Mrs B. last night that Protestants and Catholics are both Christian.

Sometimes I think motherhood has addled her brain :dabs:

Tell her the splitters will eventually go back to true Christianity. It's just a wee blip. They are like weans who took a huff when they weren't allowed to play games they wanted to. They will grow out of it.

I've had to explain that to Mrs. Doobie before. I have to remind her which is her right and left hand on occasion, too.

God bless her.

Where I'm from, Christianity, in that context, has absolutely fuck all to do with it.

More to do with geography.

Which is also a very temporary affair, like.

A bit of a gem - I think my favourite was him declaring that the Bible proved the Pope was the anti-Christ. All the letters are there you just have to cut them out and stick them back in the right order.

Who would have thought Hagrid was around the corner. He looked older then - playing an Orangeman obviously takes its toll
