shurikens, masks, stealth & kungfu. what's not to want? sum little kid raised to be an assassin just to see his friend killed by the same ppl. he leaves the clan and now they're out to get him. this looks entertaining and i love me sum kungfu action.

just finished this and it was meh. it has LOTS of cg blood mind u. it suffers from what all american fighting movies suffer from, close shot filming. it's filmed so close to the damn actors u can't follow wtf is going on. lots of blood, crap dialog, inadequate presentation, cute asian chic. 6/10

I heard that a lot of the action was so dimly light you could hardly see what was going on and as you said mr. nails the editing and closeups also made it confusing as hell.
Also cgi has no place in martial arts movies,maybe a little wire work but that 's about it.
The whole point of a good fight scene is to be amazed at what someone is actually capable of doing
Too bad I was looking forward to it.

Before i herd all these reviews i wanted to see it but now i could care less it doesnt sound that good, even though the trailer looks good means nothing almost every movie trailer looks somewhat good that's how they get you wanting to see it and when u eventually see it your not as impressed as you though you would be most of the time.

No it's not , it's extremely derivative which for a martial arts movie in and of itself not necessarily a deal breaker but it is poorly written ,( really) terribly acted and features a hero with zero charisma who isn't the least bit believable in the role.
Btw I'm a big chop-suey fan so I'm not criticizing the movie out of hand.

Seriously though...in the beginning the Ninja are god, and at the end they are mowed down like nothing. Their abilities were also inconsistent, ranging from pretty realistic skill to disappearing before your eyes in the middle of a well lit room, with a katana to their throat...

I have to say I did not mind it. I wasn't expecting much, and it at least met those expectations. CG throughout. A story that could be written on a cocktail napkin. A hero out to kill as many ninjas as possible- we've all been there, right?

All in all, I cannot disagree with anything critics here have said, but it did manage to hold my eyes to the screen until it was over. Many movies have not been able to accomplish that much. Watchable.
