Hi, this is the start of a Gamecube thread. If you have got a new GC game and want to say how good(or bad) you think it is, or just talk about the new releases or post anything to do with Gamecube, do it here. Thanks

Nintendo has projected a net loss for the first time in its publicly-owned history. Earlier today, Nintendo regrettably informed its investors that instead of the 15 billion yen profit predicted earlier for the fiscal half-year, the company expects to suffer a loss of 3.0 billion yen (around $27 million). Nintendo is currently 7 million yen into the red.

Nintendo blames much of the losses on the unexpected appreciation of the Japanese yen, citing roughly 40 billion yen in foreign exchange losses for the time span. Nintendo also disclosed it had originally planned to reduce the GameCube’s price earlier in the year, and expects the new price to vastly improve sales during the holiday season.

Despite the disappointing news, Nintendo remains confident in its business strategy and estimates a 60 billion yen profit for its full fiscal year ending in March—only five billion yen short of its previous goal.

<_< Also, understand that this "confidence" is probably just to keep the stockholders/potential investors from panicking.

I really wnat a gamecube but buying a cube means buying a lot of games and that makes it an expensive system..

ebay....., you can get the system and like 15 games for 200$

Plus if you're into the GBA and you get a gameboy player (that hook's up with the Gamecube) it's totally worth it, especially with the ability to use flash cards in the player.

I´m considering buying a GC mainly because of the new Mario Cart game and the new F zero game. Allthough those two games looks damn sweet I´ll probably spend my money on an x box if I decide to buy a console mainly because of "Knight of the old republic" and "fable".

I've already got a GameCube, since last year, but I'm definitely gonna purchase both of those games. Still, I yet to purchase Metroid Prime.

I don't understand how people can say the games are stupid or they suck if they don't have a gamecube. there are actually quite a few games in each genre that are very high quality. now, i understand you still may not like them, but it is better to say that than "they suck" or "They are all stupid" its just madness. every console has its good and not so good games.

Gamecube does have the LEAST number of new games coming out that I'm looking forward to.

Right now I have

Metroid Prime
Zelda WW
Zelda OOT
Star Wars Rogue Leader
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil
Luigi's Mansion (I should have sold that a long time ago)
Mario Sunshine

that's all I can think of at the moment. GC doesn't have alot I can look forward to.
I'm definitely getting

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes
RE 4
Star Wars Rebel Strike
and MAYBE Mario Kart Double Dash (only if it's like Diddy Kong Racing; that was tight :D )

other than those there isn't as much to look forward to compared to other systems <_<
other than

I guarantee all that Mario kart Doulbe Dash is gonna be sweet. If you liked the one on 64, and i think most people did, this one should be 10 times better. I know there are some videos online you can see soem of it at. I think it comes out around november 16, so they should be finishing it up soon. Super smash brothers melee itself is reason enough to get a gamecube. SSBM is best fighting game ever. Marth owns all.

I liked Diddy Kong Racing not the original Mario Kart. I was hoping the new Mario Kart was like Diddy. Otherwise I'm not getting it. Also one decent is NOT reason enough to get a system and right now GC doesn't have alot on the horizon except the ones I mentioned and Metroid Prime 2.
