k i wanna know if i should go for it and make some...i have NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever making them....i've seen people making them... i saw it takes a lot of patience...

any inputs?

If you haven't got the special crimping tool, it isn't worth the hassle.

It will cost you almost as much to buy the cable and connectors as it would cost to buy ready made cables, and with the crimping tool on top you will certainly be losing out. It is only worth it if you are going to be making a LOT of cables.

In any case, you may find it difficult to buy cat5 cable at a reasonable price without buying a full reel.

they aint dear anyway, i went to a shop who made them, the shortest they made was 3m, at £1.50 per m. which wasnt to bad, and it was alot longer than 3m when i got it. u get them cheap of the net to,

You can buy a 30 meter cable, non cross for 20 or so (20 = about 30pounds...)

i got a 20M crossover cable for just under £15.00 from ebay a few weeks ago ;)
so they are not that expensive
