Don't know if it's real cos I have some problems with mIRC.

Server: irc.rizon.net
Channel: #wx (more than 900 users today, wow!)

The file is called "Half.Life.2.Beta-ANON".

Could someone download it and put it in his Shared Folder?

After I forwarded the ports for BT it still didn't work.
I just didn't want to waste my time on trying to get this damn program to work when I could use K++ and Emule.

Well who ever finishes the download first let us know for realz if you can. Ive got a bangin system (3ghz, ati 9700 radeon pro, 512mbddrram, 70+ gigs of free space, all on blazing cable connection :lol: ) so I will be also downloading it, and will let us know how it goes if I finish before anyone else.

Well it is already confirmed that it is real but as i said before you kant do much all yu kan do is run and shoot no missions and the monsters dont fight back. . . .

Well I&#39;m also downloading this beta gameplay video off of suprnova. Thought what the hell....Going to have to wait for this beta to finish, might as well see exactly whats in it before it does....


As soon as its done, someone put up a screenshot of where your at, or the GUI, or something. As soon as you get it.

That sounds like a good way to test the game out on your system. I mean if this &#39;demo&#39; is gonna look like the final release will, then thats worth the download, even if its pretty short and not story line oriented.

Half-life 2 is the most earliest game I have gotten before its actual release. Flight sim was a month before, but this one is 6 months before. Of course those hackers but....

you need xvid xodec to run, and each is pretty short, but it looks as legit as anything could get. Some missing textures, place holders, models, and other things, but they look great.

Hey. Look in comparison of these to pictures. Now if monsters don&#39;t fight back then what is this thing doing. By saying they don&#39;t fight back, I took it as they didn&#39;t move. If thats what you mean then look at these. If you mean they move but can&#39;t hurt you, then sorry.

Now see that in the first picture he is in one position, then in the second, its in another position. I know it can&#39;t be caused by the guy shooting him, since....well...he has the same ammo in both pictures. Just thought I&#39;d add this.

If you think its slow on bittorrent, you get it from one guy on kazaa, without any sources, it may take you days....

Once I&#39;m done I would, but just to warn you, getting games off of Kazaa is not recommended. Most likely once you&#39;re done downloading the game off of Kazaa the file&#39;s gonna be corrupt. That&#39;s why some of the members of this board moved on to using other P2P programs to download games and other crap.

That video I was talking about, on suprnova, I finally got it downloaded, and I watched it. First off it was someone using a video camera(pretty steady btw)to record the monitor. Even though it being such low crapy quality, I have to say that the footage makes me hungry for more. Right now I am so impatient. I have never been this excited over a game, especially a beta, or alpha if you will...

The guy went to trap town and he just messed around....shot some barrels, knocked some stuff down. Just the things you can do makes me yurn for it. The AI appears very smart, they fight back with force, die nicely, the graphics look superb(even for a beta). The sounds are nice(from the bad quality I could hear, they still sounded good&#33;).

Man I shouldn&#39;t have watched that video...I don&#39;t think I can wait the rest of these 11 hours...

I guess I&#39;ll go make a pot of coffee. This is different from usuall. I&#39;m not leaving this one on for the night to download. I intend to be awake when its done. These next 11 hours are going to be VERY interesting....

Ah well, luckily the leaked game is only walking around and has many errors. I&#39;m glad it doesn&#39;t have any missions or any of that cause this damn thing pushed the proper release date back to april 04&#39; ffs. Plus this entire thread is full of people wanting to fuck valve up even more, ah well, what can I expect from a p2p forum.

heh...I will in a second cygnuz-Y. Just kind of in stun of the game. I went to the e3 techdemo level 2 to mess around. I was setting up barrels and knocking the fuckers over with another barrel. I use that dead guys body and put him between to matresses and shot the shit out of it. Heh it was funny man. Strange though, you can&#39;t pick up bodys in the normal game with the gravity gun, only in that demo. I think valve is fucking us around. Or maybe its just in this beta. But its odd that in the normal game you can&#39;t pick up the bodys, but in that level you can pick up that body. I think its just like what that guy said in the readme about the door still kicking open. I don&#39;t think you can ever really pick up bodys in the game...dunno...


Game runs smooth, beautiful graphics, but still some errors and missing textures...


I&#39;ll see what I can do about a screenshot...

Cade, how did you get it to install? Ive gotten errors when trying to just install the game. Were you about to get the 62nd file? Did you not get any errors and if you did how did you get around them? At first I got d3d9.dll not found so I downloaded it and put in my Windows system directory, but now I get "The procedure entry point DdEntry10 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.ll" And then a message after words says &#39;Unable to init shader system&#39; Did you get anything like this? Im on windows xp and I have a radeon 9700 pro just to let you know. The game looks sweet cant wait til i can play it.

Well esal, I didn&#39;t have any errors. If you downloaded the one from Bittorrentmovies.de then shouldn&#39;t be any problems. Mine installed like a charm. Abu I have a amd athlon xp 2200+ 1.8 ghz processor, 384 mb ddr ram, and it runs pretty damn good&#33; :) .

Alright well Ive gotten teh game to start. I hadnt installed directx9 yet, just reformatted. but let me ask you this, when I click on Play game, and selct training level, I press play, and nothing happens. I read some where that you press the console key and put in a level command, but what is it? Any help please?

Well I don&#39;t think the levels are synced or scripted or some shit. If you want to get to a level, hit the "~" key, then type in "Maps *" without those parenthasis. Then it will bring up levels, then when you find the one you want, type in the console: "map (then type your maps full name here, usually something like &#39;d3_c17_01", or something like that). B)


Oh and Cygnuz, you should be able to run it with that. My second computer is a geforce mx/mx 400 and it ran "laggy, but not TOO bad", on 640x(whatever that number is...forgot). You will be able to play it, but it won&#39;t be a pleasing time. I tried it out on my other computer just to see, I have to say its not too good. But do it anyway, you&#39;ll get to have some fun.

k i got it to play now lol. The game is pretty sweet. Ive only played a few maps, but the whole thing is very limited. Could you guys only move the cursor side to side, but not up and down or diagnol? I cant seem to. The graphics are great, this should be an awesome game when it comes out officailly released, if ever. I like the sea floor level, driving the buggy around was fun as hell. Fighting the enemies would be alot easier if i could move the cursor freely though.

You can. Just go to options, mouse, and make sure "Mouse Look" is clicked. It starts the game with it unclicked...


Just click that and your set.



First Person Shooters suck on the pc without a mouse. Without using mouse for looking, its like playing the console version, except with more horrible controls.

Know one likes sharing anymore. With Bit torrent theres only 4seeders and know one wants to put the file in there kazaa folder. I won&#39;t finish downloading this file for 9 days and I have a cable modem. I just wish someone put it in their kazaa folder so everyone here can get it. Theres a few of u posting about the game, so why can&#39;t u guys be nice and share it with your kazaa bros.

is there a way to keep it downloading. It downloads then stops. It just keeps doing that. Also is there something to speed it up something like kazzaignite.

[EDIT] NVM this thing is fast im getting speeds of 400-1000kbs. I hope these are real speeds. I have the beta shareaza and this thing is faster than kazaa and torrent.

It downloads then stops, because your on que. Turn up your uploads to 4 or 6 for bittorrent downloads under advanced shareaza settings. also Pause the torrent first for a minuit then resume, rightclik it and find more sources too, this might help you.

max files=1232
max transfers= 128
transfers per file=45
connection out 198kbs
connection in 198kbs.

These are my settings, and i got 150kbs average lastnight. was done in 5 hours.

if you were smart enough to keep it heres what you do. re-open the HL2 beta with bittorrent and it should re-download any currupt secorts that should fix it if not then your screwed.

1. No, there is no HL2 Pre-Gold release. According to ANON&#39;s latest nfo (http://www.theisonews.com/release.php3?releaseid=84384), it&#39;s stated that the Pre-Gold is fake. It is also stated in this HL2 FAQ (http://207.6.175.83/hl2faq.php).

2. Yes, CS:CZ is a real leak. It was stated as one in the FAQ as well.

I&#39;m guessing you don&#39;t know the full story behind ALL betas. Take Microsoft Windows betas for example. Usually a beta build would leak through a person who works at MS. If he leaks a beta he&#39;s making a very big decision about his life. First, the leaker would risk his job. If he gets caught (and there is a very strong chance of him getting caught), then he gets fired. Second, he would lose his trust with everyone. If he couldn&#39;t keep a Windows build a secret, who&#39;s gonna trust him with anything. With all those things considered, betas from MS shouldn&#39;t be taken for granted.

Now in HL2&#39;s case, the thing was stolen by a dumbass hacker who thinks he&#39;s leet because he could hack his way into Valve. Even though it was stolen, the beta shouldn&#39;t be taken for granted again. It provides an "exclusive" preview to what the game&#39;s gonna look like. Not many people know about leaks at all. My friend who plays HL all the time never knew the thing leaked.
