View Full Version : Red Sox Vs Yankee

Damn it, 12 more hours until game time. One of the all time great rivalries in sports: the Boston Red Sox vs the New York Yankees. Or as President and CEO of the Red Sox, Larry Luccino said, "...its the Nation vs the Empire". Thats toned down a bit from his statement, earlier this season, that the Yankees and Boss George Stienbrenner were "the Evil Empire".

I am freaking excited for this series...11 hours 59 minutes to go...

Yeah, should be great!

I'm zazzed about both the Sox and the Cubs having a shot the same year; sentimentalism dictates I pull for both of them (also that my wife is a Cubbies fan).

I LOVE New York, but hate the Yankees, into the bargain.

Lots of plusses to this seasons events.

Red Sox take game 1 by a score of 5-2!! Tim Wakefield wins his first post season game in 11 years with a tremendous performace.

I don't think there were enough long balls in that game ;)

Its good to see the Cubs in the post season (although my extreme baseball superstition and fear of the jinx prevents me from making a predicitons about matchups for the World Series ;) ). Cub fans can indentify with the pain and misery that is being a Red Sox fan.

All I know about baseball is some guy behind another guy yelling strike all the time. and another is a bunch of guys running toward eachother yelling "I got it. I got it".

sounds to me like just a bunch of guys who like to strike and tell the world that they got it. :P why he keeps striking the guy infront of him and what did "they get", I HAVE NO IDEA. and oh, it seems like they like eachother a lot, since they keep slaping each others' butts.

btw clocker, do u like have a drive thru window to sell ur grass?

looks like the Yankees finally have their bullpen in order. the set-up/closer combo of Contreras/Rivera looks awesome right now. takes a lot of heat off the starting rotation, knowing they only have to go 6 innings.

though i'm a life-long Yankee fan, even i wouldn't mind seeing a Cubs-Red Sox series. of course, i would want the Cubs to win in their last at bat in Game 7....

can't help it...i just enjoy watching Red Sox fans suffer! :P

I wish it was Saturday. The Pedro-Clemens matchup is going to be amazing. I have been harassing my boss for a couple of the company's seats for the game. All he does is laugh at me. Stupid customers, always getting in my way and taking all the good tickets.

So it will be me and the couch, spending some quality time together Saturday afternoon. I can't wait. GO SOX!!

Disappointing loss for the Red Sox today, 4-3 at Fenway Park. Clemens pitched a great game for the Yankees.

Crazy fourth inning. Pedro shouldn't have hit Garcia but Garcia (and Posada) should have kept their respecitve traps shut.

Lost in that debacle was Garcia trying to clip Walker (who was at least two steps behind second base) with a breakup slide. That was just stupid, Walker didn't hit Garcia.

Manny was out of line too, next inning. But I have to ask wtf was up with Don Zimmer charging at Pedro and trying to throw a punch? That has to be one of the strangest things I have ever seen. Must have been some interference caused by the metal plate in Zim's head.

I'm sure that last is right.

Zim does some strange stuff at times, but gee whiz........

I have to laugh at how far grown men will take the "vengeful" thing-

I mean, pitchers throwing at hitters is easy enough to understand, but come on-I saw (last year, I think) a cutoff man throw at the trailing runner (he was late going to third) and the dugouts emptied-into shallow right-field. It was hilarious!

Here's hoping the Cubs finish this one out-the game ain't over yet.

Its looking good for the Cubbies, up 8-2 in the 8th.

One more thought about the Red Sox: Nomar might want to START HITTING THE BALL!! It is October and the Sox are in the playoffs. A few hits and maybe even a few RBI's sometime before April might be helpful. He needs to stop thinking about his pending marriage to women's soccer star Mia Hamm. If I were her right now I'd be thinking about leaving his sorry ass because he is choking big time. (Millar and Mueller could stand to knock out a few more hits too).

That was an exciting game to watch. I was hoping the Boston Police Dept was going to add to the consipiracy theories by arresting Nelson and Garcia, for their roles in the bullben fiasco, as they came onto the field for the game. That would have been hilarious. :D

I feel it, tonight during Game 5 Nomar is actually going to drive in a run. He is due.

Oakland A's = 9 straight playoff losses in a series clinching situation

Its not the umps fault

Now with the Sox, I am placing the blame on Grady Little for sticking with Pedro too long.
