Anyone else here into instrumental post rock? I seem to be rather obsessed with it at the moment. Mainly because it's great for listening while I'm at work (I tend to get distracted by words for some reason).

Some of my favorites:

Explosions in the Sky
This Will Destroy You
Laura
GY!BE (Although you have to be in the right mood for it)
If These Trees Could Talk

Anyone else have some other bands in this genre that you've been listening to? I'm always interested in more music!

I really like 'This Will Destroy You' and 'If These Trees Could Talk' as well.

The newest Mogwai release is pretty good if you haven't checked it out already.

The band "Have a Nice Life" is sweet if you like more downcast post-rock, you should give them a shot as well

I'd also go with 'Red Sparowes'.

Thanks for the reminder about Mogwai. They've slipped my mind. I liked Mr. Beast quite a bit.

I'll make sure to check the other ones as well.

Try:
Maserati (http://www.last.fm/music/Maserati)
The Samuel Jackson Five (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Samuel+Jackson+Five)

Maserati especially, is a band I fell in love with damn quick.

Thanks for the Maserati link. I think I'll have to pick something from those guys up.

If you haven't already, listen to Young Team by them. In my opinion its way better than Mr. Beast. Also, you should listen to the album Neu! by Neu!. Great classic german post-rock.

Try anything by God Is An Astronaut or 65daysofstatic. If you're looking for more guitar driven post-rock you can try Maybeshewill.
