Sheesh people i'm i'm not sure if anyone has brought this subject up before..but i'm so tired of people who are using the latest version of Kazaa lite and don't bother to un check " users can't get a list of your shared files" ......

how the heck is anyone to know your sharing if this is still checked ...i'm not accusing anyone of not sharing but how the hell can you tell?

try sending a message to them to find out .and sure enough they have the message turned off to.. i'll continue to share my files but if anyone can give me an answer to this i'd appreciate it greatly

Happy sharing:

ps: if you have something naughty in your shared folder take it out and put it somewhere else for godsake if thats what your scared of showing

The reason people don't untick that option is because they don't want to be sued, unticking it lets the RIAA and anyone instantly list everything your sharing.
You can't expect people to make themselve vulnerable for your sake.

Consider this: what if some people like me hardley have anyone downloading off them, why risk it if that is the case.
.....of course iam from the UK so the can't touch me. B)

I understand....

However Taipan...you may want to read some previous threads regarding file sharing in this forum..... anyone who tries to reason that SHARING is what keeps Kazaa going is usually shot down (by the odd few) for their logic.

I do agree that I should not have to share a list a files in my shared folder for ANYONES perusal.... this does not mean that I don't share though....

I used to think along the same lines as you did until I was 'educated' by some of the loyal members here (and realized there was no sense fighting those who do not share the p2p philosophy)....

Keep sharing and good luck!

Well guess what the only reason you can doawnload is because other people share files. And if your not sharing thats a cheap ass way to thank someone

I share several gigabytes but I also checked the option that other people don't see what I share because I really don't want the criminal police scanning me.. All over europe the local police or whoever also searches for people who share copyrighted files..even though f_ck them all !! I continue sharing my stuff.. !

If you do want to cancel/ban the uploads to the worst leeches, consider this:

If someone is @Kazaa or @k-lite or KL++ related and they're using Kazaa/KL++ v2.0.2 or newer then they'll show a PL rating.
If their PL rating is 1 or 0, they are almost certainly a leech.

Still, check for shared files even though it isn't likely to work.

If you have 5+ uploads to 5+ different people and 1 upload is going faster than ALL the rest combined AND they have either a PL=0/1 or >9000 (you'll see PL>1000 IF you turn on show true PL) then they are probably a leech. The ONLY way to download superfast while sharing is to only upload at a fraction of your upload's max speed. Message them, wait a few minutes, then if no reply, cancel that upload.

Whether you want to cancel ALL uploads to 1 person or just 1 upload of many, there's a trick to do it which will prevent them from returning immediately (unless someone else drops...)

Cancel the upload/s, CLEAR the finished/error uploads QUICKLY before that person returns, reduce max uploads by 1. It also forces them to the end of the upload queue (the 'remotely queued' thing) so they may take quite a while before they get a chance to download from you again.

Shareaza 'rotates' uploads like this already...

Er...what? What usually gets shot down are the newbs who come in saying they cancel everyone who doesn't have their list public, I don't think I've seen anyone encouraging others to not share.

Hey, if you want to get sued, leave your files public by all means.
