File sharing "party" ? [Archive]

Does anyone here have ever participate at a file sharing "party" ?

Something like a "LAN party" but where people exchange their stuff (movies....).

Sorry for my english :D

that happens at most lan parties, as I know of.
I've only been to one, a really big one by the way, and you could find more shares than you could dream of. I downloaded 600 GB in almost a day there.
Just the "party" itself was too nerdy for my own taste. Only a couple of normal guys around there, the ones drinking beer and insulting each other all the time. Other than that, mostly milk & cookies people. :(

I could definitely see it happening at a LAN party.

I don't really understand how you would make a party out of simply "file sharing" though. Maybe if you wanted to share movies, games, tv shows, ect. but then it would most likely result in a party of avid movie watchers or tv fans, not a "file sharing" party.

I must be behind the times cause I have not heard of a LAN or file sharing party. Doesn't sound like my cup of java though, so I doubt I am missing much

File Sharing Parties sound pretty boring...unless as you said, it is a part of something more than just that

We called it copy parties many years ago we gathered bunches of people and copied amiga, atari and pc from eachother this must`ve been 15-17 years ago :lol:

i'm sharing my files on my LAN everyday
