"The Catholic Church is telling people in countries stricken by Aids not to use condoms because they have tiny holes in them through which the HIV virus can pass - potentially exposing thousands of people to risk."

...contrary to ALL scientific evidence.

Not content with using moral arguments against condoms, they're actually prepared to lie in order to prevent people from using them. They'd rather see people die than 'sin'.

It appears that the Fundamentalist Catholic view is that contraception is wrong and that every act of sexual intercourse should have the opportunity to make a new Catholic.

It therefore seems that the actions of the Vatican indicate that they would rather make HIV infected babies, leading to eventual dying out of a generation, than permit a temporary lull in Catholic births.........hmmmmmm strange, do I suspect a self defeating philosophy??

yes the virus is very small and could pass through, but what the virus is INSIDE cannot pass through the condom.


you cant stop people from having sex.

and condoms are the safest way besides abstinence to stop STD's

Well I think that&#39;s a smart move of them since well umm if they say it does help then maybe people would start asking for money and that&#39;s a thing that they would not like since they need the money for themself.

Btw: I don&#39;t believe in anything higher, and I am with no church since for me that&#39;s all just a "money maker" org. It&#39;s just sad that the church has so much power and have the "right" to get monthly fees (in some countries) even if you don&#39;t want to choose any religion.

Naw, last I heard the idea of hell was imported from the fenicians, or rather their religion.

I thought that while the integrity of the latex was not enough to prevent stray molecules to pass through, larger clusters like a virus or a cell couldn&#39;t pass through.

Your statement sounded (to me)as if the condom didn&#39;t block the virus as a unit, but the DNA/RNA it carries. While I don&#39;t want to critisize, it really confuses me. :huh: :blink:
