View Full Version : Half-life 2 Beta Problem

Everyone is telling me how great HL2 Beta is but I can't get it to work. I have extracted all the files and everything. I get into the main menu and it's working fine, but if I go into the console by "~", and I try to type "maps" or "map dl_town_01" it crashs, because I type "map" and then when I hit the spacebar it crashes. Or when I go into Options after like 30 seconds it crashes. Someone please help me!!! I have even tried the beta patch, and that didn't work either. HELP!!!! :(

that's why it's called BETA

it's incomplete and buggy.

blame it on the guy who stole valve&#39;s codes, otherwise we&#39;d be playing the good version by now <_<

its crashing cuz it has a lot of bugs cuz its a fukin beta you fuckin cant wait to get the real copy can u? fukin slut valve worked real hard for this game like fukin 5 years

can u tell us ur system spec so we can help... i think it could be your pc that is the problem but i could be wrong.

Just delete it and wait for the final release.

a beta is like a test prog its really buggy cause the want to see wats they can do to make it better.

thats the point... its a beta, its real buggy just try not touching the walls touching the walls makes it crash more likely...

and even if u d/l the HL2 source and compile it u will have same problem cuz its not quite done yet
