ok i have been using tuneup utilities 2009 plus regseeker they have both said all is ok. So i tried regcure and it tells me there is 400 errors could this be right or a false reading.

run regcure again after cleaning,if it still reports too many errors,than its not very good.Winaso is another good one :)

I wouldn't trust it or at least do a Reg. backup first . What does Ccleaner tell you ?
