Final box office figures for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" showed the movie's ticket sales rising to $142.8 million from a originally estimated $140.7 million ( and initially predicted $100 million), the studio behind the film said on Monday. It enjoyed the biggest opening weekend of 2009 and placed third for the top opening weekend ever behind last year's Batman movie "The Dark Knight" ($158 million) and 2007's "Spider-Man 3" ($151 million).

New Moon grossed $72.7 million on Friday, according to estimates from Summit Entertainment, shattering The Dark Knight’s previous opening-day record of $67.2 million. (The figure includes the $26.3 million New Moon banked from midnight screenings, also a box office record.) All the more impressive considering New Moon opened in 342 fewer theaters than The Dark Knight did last year.

While one might suspect that "New Moon's" audience was almost entirely made up of teenagers, Summit Entertainment's official analysis of North American moviegoers indicates that only 50% of the film's crowd was under the age of 21, showing that the love triangle between Edward, Bella and Jacob extends beyond the target age group. The audience was, however, 80% female.

What does that have to do with anything?I don't know but it gives me an excuse to post this clip.

If KS ever makes a movie half as funny as his speeches he will be the one setting box-office records.

I watched both and the second is beautiful, if you don't like new moon it must be because you don't have a romantic fiber in you.

Yes she should and you should too and maybe learn a thing or two about romanticism, I am not saying you are not a romantic.

The majority of guys don't have a clue about how to treat a woman, of course they don't like that movie.

lol, i'm sure the majority of guys DO know how to treat a woman. that has nothing to do with the fact that this film is only suppose to satisfy moist vagina.

Lessons Guys Can Learn From New Moon
-Shirts are for pussies. Remove- for no apparent reason- your shirt whenever you're near a woman.
This advice should work in any situation...try it at your next job interview!

-Women like- no, LOVE!- fucked up hair.
The dirtier and messier, the better.

Lessons Girls Can Learn From New Moon
-Being a vapid, emo fucktard makes you attractive to 110 year old supernatural creatures.
Regular people- of both sexes- will find you lethally annoying but who cares?
Refuse to settle for anything but a magical paedophile- especially one who hasn't managed to get out of high school after 90 years- because that represents your best shot for a happy, productive life.

-Italy is home to a higher class of imaginary immortals...you should plan a trip ASAP.

-A regular life is short, difficult and boring.
Strive to become a vampire and think of the money you'll save on hair care products and sparkle makeup!
Plus, you get to spend an eternity with a partner who will refuse to fuck...or even touch...you, all for your own good.
Prepare for your future now by having your vagina surgically removed...you won't be needing it and it's kinda icky.
The downside of course is that you'll apparently have to attend high school pretty much forever but you can relieve the boredom by removing your shirt whenever you feel like it.
Oh wait...that last part doesn't seem to happen.

Well, it should.
Get right on that will you Bella?

It seems you watched the movie Clocker, why the hate for the movie? Could be that you don't have a six pack? ahhaha lol sorry I had to laugh.

Well it satisfied me, it is a nice movie, very romantic, well most guys don't have a clue about what women are all about or how to treat them, but that is another story.

Could it be that it's just a shit movie?

I would compare New Moon to the second Pirates of the Caribbean...it's just a placeholder, a means of life support for the franchise as the producers try to get to the end of the story.
Nothing happens, it's boring and it's stupid.

I can appreciate mindless- see Crank or Shoot 'Em Up for great examples- but mindless AND stupid is unforgivable.

BTW, I long ago decided the best place for a six pack was in the fridge.

Not a comment on the movie since I haven't see it , although the previews are enough to make me hate Taylor Lautner and the ridiculous werewolves as giant wolves shite ( hate even wee werewolve wolves in Blood and Chocolate ).... but seriously any man that purports to know what women are really about
Maybe it's my ignorance but I assume that women are kinda like men in that there are as many different wants/desires/needs as there are individuals.

Of course you're French or something and misogyny goes with the territory.:idunno:

Agreed. I loved the first POTC, easily one of the best movies I've seen in a while. But the second one was so fucking confusing and retarded I still can't figure what the hell happened in that movie, or what the point of it was. Completely ruined what could have been a great trilogy...

You know you just agreed with liking New Moon while at the same time stating that you have never seen it.

In movies ,as with most everything else it's not the ingredients ,that's the most important thing, it's how they come together.

Unless you consider this to be a reasonable thought process :" I think a mixture of rum and garlic must be good .I mean I like rum ,I like garlic what could possibly go wrong?".
In other words first watch the movie before reporting that it it lived up to your expectations or not.

My wife is a fan of the books. She thinks the movies are horrible. And I agree. The acting and pacing is horrible. It's not about being a guy and knowing nothing about romance. It's about being a fan of decent movies. And the Twilight Saga Movies is crap on film.

I thought the movie was the average teenage love story with crappy acting and a character that turned into a huskie, not a werewolf. That kid with the long hair must have roided up over the summer, went from nerd to the hulk. Not really but didn't read the books and heard the movie sucks compared to the books. Doubt I will ever read them.

i preferred the first twilight film to new moon.
in new moon the acting was terrible and wooden you can tell both movies have different directors.
