Has this site stopped operating, as I am only getting time-outs on this for the past two weeks?
Any recommendations for a decent nzb serach engine without paying for it please?

Thanks in advance

@drunkenm4ster: Getting time outs as well for about the same period of time. Hope this is only temporary...

Merlins Portal, NZBrus, nzbs.org, FST for more recent stuff, or simply auto indexers. (Supersearch works well too if you use the cracked newzleech)

I like nzbindex.nl , 400 days retention and it's free. But I hope newzleech will be back, it was the best.

There's nothing fascinating about Newzleech. NZBIndex is the next best thing after SS.

Also Newzleech shows heaps of them fakes, NZBIndex has a filter that WORKS.

I posted info in a thread a while ago how newzleech doesnt find 9 out of 10 things when searching by filename while nzbindex.com and binsearch.info find every one

newzleech fell off yrs ago...stick with binsearch.info and nzbindex.com and as said above newsleecher SS

Thanks to all, it seems that 'ol newsleech is dead and time to change to the above recommendations.

They could be upgrading, doing maintenence, was the holidays after all, or they could be down....for good...remember it was up for sell forever, maybe someone bought it.

BinSearch doesn't search through all groups by default. On NZBIndex you can request groups (http://nzbindex.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f=22&sid=61c0ede9bbe139e972f38708ca58998e) to be added and also Features (http://nzbindex.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f=23&sid=61c0ede9bbe139e972f38708ca58998e)

I dont understand your point in relation to my post

I know binsearch only searches most popular by default...#abgwii is "not popular" for some reason so that is in "others"...so what is your point exactly...nzbindex and binsearch still have 10x better engine than newzleech

either way if you dont want to miss anything stay in the IRC request rooms and download headers and such...

NZBIndex is better than BinSearch, You dont have to search 2 times lol.

Binsearch has slightly higher retention though :(.

Update: On 19/11/2009 Newzleech's host in Ukraine Colocall got raided by the country's secret service.
Newzleech wasn't targeted specifically. Every server in the building was removed as part of an unrelated
criminal case. Why they took every server nobody knows. Lots of legitimate Ukrainian businesses have
been affected. In case you're worried there was zero logs on the server so don't worry about that.

Unfortunately there isn't a recent backup on the server scripts. I am currently rebuilding the site from the
old backups that I have. Please be patient while the site is being rebuilt. We should be back before the end
of the year.

Sorry for the lack of updates. This whole thing has been quite traumatic.

Unfortunately it doesnt index lots of groups and i couldnt find any way to ask the developers to add them into the database(no form to fill in, no forums available)

Newzleech used to be great, Pretty much like FST, It used to have a forum and even the owner answered your emails, It was even a secure site with ssl but as you have pointed out the owner has become lazy and unlucky , Having his site destroyed by the powers that be.
shame really its not like how it used to be on there, I miss the old place. If the owner reads this, Sort the place out, get the it secured(ssl) and get the forum going again, In fact if the owner of this place(FST) reads this ,why haven't you sorted out a ssl cert for this place?
