The problem is that every version of Nero from 5 on has been an increasing disaster. So much so, its evident that Ahead is on the ropes and could fail as a copany in the next few years. I used to pay for Nero every version, but after paying for 7, I don't even steal it from the web it sucks so bad. If your smart you will find an alternative to use for 7 but avoid Roxio at all costs if you value your sanity.
Its too bad Nero 6 won't install on Win7, all its missing is blueray support and its the last version that allowed you to load things separately. Nero 6 was the first version to introduce Nero Start Smart, which is totally usless for anything but erasing blank disks if you know even a smidge of the main exe (I make my own shortcut for Nero.exe and use it almost exclusively).

You should use the latest 9.4 version, has it corrects some stability issues.
Now it's rock solid, as usual.

I still like the micro or lite versions , but have 9.4.13.2 installed right now . Works flawless with Win7 64.

wat u need is a Nero 9.4.x
works like a charm on my Win 7
but on the downside its over 2.4 gigs (full package)
deselecting unnecessary features will bring down the size

Yeah! the bloat is ridiculous. Its like a rancher raising an obese cow, and thinking it will sell for more than the lean one cause it wieghs twice as much.
