Wise move. I personally would have preferred Wales or Slovenia but then we are useless when we are expected to do well so perhaps this is for the best.

Dailly can cuss hard at Davids and steam his glasses up - that should help. B)

Are we home or away first?

I hope that it is a draw between Scotland and the Netherlands, but I suppose someone has to win.

As long as we Dutch have Dick advocaat as manager the Dutch won't win any important game. It is the biggest coward coach in the world. He can't choose from al the good players he have that's why he isn't capable to select the best squad.
He has proven he's a born loser. See how he did wit Rangers, he had lots of money to spend in Glasgow (Southern Europe Budgets!) and never won something serious. As a dutch soccer fan it's sad to say but i think (and hope) that Scotland will win the match So that Advocaat has to resign. Just hope we get a coach then that dares to make some key players important.

Btw for the ones that don't know Advocaat chooses Kluivert over Ruud Van (the Man) Nistelrooy. This shows how little he knows of the game.... ;)

Latvia will beat Turkey,Alpay is a disgrace not only to his country but to Aston Villa who employ him for the moment. Why put a poster up asking Beckham if he remembered Galipoi ,man it was during the 1st WW.Not only was it an insult to the brave soldiers who lost there lives on both sides. It was a disgraceful way to behave in general & Heskey going crazy because of racial abuse is no excuse. We have all seen on TV how racism is destroying the planet. So my final word to Turkey is grow up & stop dwelling on past event's.Good luck to all the home nation's.

note for david "the traitor" beckham: that headbutt vs. turkey WAS the right thing to do, i would have done it. i still wont forgive you and probably never will forgive you for leaving united. you chose the wrong way, you shall NOT come back.

note to the turk that started the mayhem: your going to be banned (or at least you should be) for about 6 months. your act was disgusting, and actually its a shame david didnt break your nose when he "got up"...

scotland: yes, if you do beat holland then the holland team should get a new coach... kluivert instead of ruud???????????? he couldve even made it both of them at the tip of the oofence....

beckham skillfull?

are you trying to make me laugh

when he played in turkey he hardly touched the ball

and made the worse penalty kick ive ever seen
and dont blame the turf it was his fault for bending so low to try and curl a penalty like hes taking a freekick

blade1356uk
10-14-2003, 05:56 PM
Why was the English Team told to stay out of the penalty areas during training, the turf tampered with maybe as all team's know Beckham takes the penalties.no offence mate the Turkish team have maybe 3 world class players,England have a full team except for Ferdinand.Terry played a blinder & only 22

he does have good technique - i think he's just not one of them 'team players' he's a bit lazy and lingers out of position

and dont blame the turf it was his fault for bending so low to try and curl a penalty like hes taking a freekick
i don't think he was trying to bend it - he always runs up that way, hitting it straight or not

If's and buts, all i know is you played us twice ( 180mins ) and could not score, even with the use of intimidating tactics. Alpay will suffer on Saturday if Villa play him !

while turkey might be one of the top 10 teams in the world they have yet to beat england, or even score past us. Alpay is the worst turkish player i have ever seen and turkey have got some good players, EMRE and SUKUR to name two. They will like england hope to get into the big final, but i think it could just see because of home advantage a portugal and france final. France are by far the best team, well they have the best striker in the world -THIERRY HENRY, and the best player in the world - ZINEDINE ZIDANE. They will be my tips to win it, but i would love to see england win it but i doubt it. and come on scotland and wales, the more the merrier for britain. Up the blades 2-0 at west brom, take that WBA, a disgrace to be top, and now the mighty bladesa showed you sunderland were lucky last time, back on top the blades be where they belong, our only danger is west ham, forget the rest.

blade1356uk

Turkey do have a few good players & have really come on in the last 10 yrs & let's not forget England used to whack Turkey 8-0 5-0,so it show's how well they have done might have something to do with souness being in charge of a Turkish team.he did well for Galatasaray. The Blades did it again stuffing the premiere whipping boy's WBA & Megson.Up THE BLADES 0-2

Ok, Being Dutch I hope The Netherlands will win against Scotland and normally they will. But I agree with Jetje. Advocaat won't let the Netherlands play their own style. Wingers, solid defence and a creative midfield with deadly strikers.
If you have strikers at hand like the Nethterlands have (need I to name them?), the strategy must be, aaaannnvalluhhhh (attack).

I hope Wales will go through. This squad could be a suprise in Portugal and they deserve it.

Just can't believe all those people blaming Advocaat for the "bad" results of the dutch national squad.......(and no, i'm not a fan of him.......at all......)

Even with Beatrix as coach, letting them play 7-2-1 formation, the dutch team should be super; if the players took their responsibility, instead of thinking about their new BMW or Silvy Meis for that matter.......

They're just a bunch of spoiled brats......

I would replace the whole bunch and even then beating the scots should be possible....

Just my penny's worth.....

i completely agree with you, but that coward (advocaat) still selects all these spoiled brads...

think he needs to take like 4 players in these team make them important and let the rest play for those... if the current players won't do that he needs to select different ones.

Why is Nedved from the tchechs such a important and good player in the national team? In my opinion because some one like Galasec does all the dirty work for him! And makes the best player even better... The dutch don't have players like that in the current squad... That's why advocaat is such a worse coach, he selects maybe the best player but the best players don't make the best team <_<

Please read what i said. In red ^^ :D

Edited: Anyway no offence but the UEFA cup is where all the Champions League failures go, but i admit there are some good teams in it though.
Just checked up, heres Celtics away record in 2001/2002 Champions League-
18.09.2001 Juventus - Celtic 3:2
17.10.2001 Porto - Celtic 3:0
23.10.2001 Rosenborg - Celtic 2:0

2002/2003 (so far)
17.09.2003 Bayern München - Celtic 2:1
21.10.2003: Anderlecht – Celtic 1:0

In the last 5 away Champions League matches Celtic have lost all 5 and have managed to muster 3 goals for and 11 against.

Actually it's spelled Sylvie.
Aplogies for the big misstake.

She was dutch "tv-babe of the year 2002".
She "acted"in soaps and "costa". Now she does some TMF-"presenting".
She looks quite F****ble.
And she is the girlfriend of Raphael v/d Vaart!!
