for all the oldies of the lounge...

Is it inevitable that I'm going to despise whatever job i have and become an old, bitter woman, or is it possible to enjoy your job?

i'm hoping its the latter...

It depends on whether you are staying with the NHS or not...

I enjoy it half of the time.
The other half is when I have to do stuff.

Being a man of leisure isn't so bad...

It depends, some say that making your hobby as a job is a way to go,
then there's a chance the fun fades when its a job.

You need to find something you're good at that you enjoy doing, and people are prepared to pay you for doing... :whistling

Barbarossa

Well technically that's not my job ( :whistling ), but sometimes I get pics published in Nuts on the "spam" page, and I get paid for those...

Well, erm... it's kinda difficult to explain...
Basically, my company offers a premium service to large companies, which enables them to order parts or engineers online.
I look after all these contracts in the Benelux.

My job is 50% web design, 50% applications software developer, and 50% customer support.

It's amazing I have any time to cock about at all, really...

That sounds like my job. A year ago.

Currently it's more liek 100% documentation, 25% testing, 25% holding the customers' hands while testing, 10% customer support, and 1% looking at code.

Orite, and 25% important meetings. And 25% travelling places to do something of the above.

Waering a tie, and sometimes a suit and being an integral part of a couple of projects is complete fuckballs.

Obviously, waking up swearing each and every morning of a workday is sort of mandatory.

I am a...I...I do what...I help...hmmm.

Well then.

I do what needs to be done, by my own definition.

People seem to like it.

I pay people.

Wrongly.

But that's only according to them, cos they're fucking shite-munchers who have no concept of The Welfare State wherein you pay fucking tax and fucking national insurance like every other cunt who isn't signing fucking on. Even then, you still pay NI. But that's not fucking measurable in fish fucking suppers, so it doesn't fucking count.

I love my job.

I love my job.

I like how you didn't blame the software once.

Incidentally, I had one of them call me up and ask how to report his overtime the other day.

It was a bit like someone needing help with their windows installation, and accidentally getting connected to some random programmer at microsoft instead of customer-support, or, as it were in this case, their own company's first line support. I think there's someone really new manning their switchboard.

I halped him, though.

We all know though, that the problems in this world, are all caused by the software developed by you and Barbie. :snooty:
