Go to device manager, scroll down to the HD and right click.
Choose "Properties" and go to the "Policies" tab.
Check both boxes under the "Write cache" section.

If you have an Intel chipset, install the Intel Storage manager and make sure write caching is enabled.

Disable indexing and auto defrag.
