Now I see why they didn't want the review to be publicized :P
Such a good idea, vanished in poor implementation (content side).

I don't know about the content side at Skittles, but God almighty, that style sheet is just horrible to look at.

That whole points system is laughable, you'd have to be a total loser to participate in such a dumb community. Members, take a step back, and try and find anything of value to your life in this site, and compare that to the opportunity cost of what you could be accomplishing with your life instead. This site is the epitome example of how bittorrent can detach someone from reality.

True that, TrueSounds. The first time I saw this review I said to myself "how anal." It's basically asking members to dedicate a good portion of their time to just the tracker and activity, while getting material from 2 months ago and not even providing stuff I may currently be interested in.

It just goes to show you, there's trackers at all ends of the spectrum. There's trackers that are so concerned with material that the community flops, and there's trackers so concerned with making the community browse the place 24/7, that the content (and the personal lives of the community) drops.

I cannot understand how such a tracker thrives.

I cannot understand how such a tracker thrives.I understand your earlier point, but since FTWR is dead, I'm assuming Skittles is thriving even more so than before.

I cannot understand how such a tracker thrives.

Because only elite users become members there.

No one is forcing anyone to be a member and what people choose to do this their lives is there own business so I don't see the need for the criticism.
If you want to cast aspersions I think texting or snowboarding or requiring everything to be FLAC are all little silly as I'm sure people think my apparent addiction to exercise also is. But in none of those instances ,as with the case of Skittles does it hurt anyone so who cares.
And no I'm not and have no desire to be a member of Skittles .

The best thing about cultist is leave them alone and they do a good job of getting rid of themselves.

The pictures aren't visible because peekinsi.de went boom. However, I still have them. BayImg is down at the moment, but here you go:

And how can someone become a member to this tracker?

Knowing the staff, VIPs, or Uploaders at FTWR (RIP). Pretty much only a small circle got invited to skittles. And I've heard their requirements for new members are extremely high. Too bad because without any new blood I've been told (by a friend who was a member) that the place was kind of dead.

Strange that being deemed "cool " enough by a bunch of closed-minded internet l33tists , many who know apparently very little beyond the vagaries of building "rep" amongst themselves by whatever means necessary (excluding being actually interesting ,fair or reasonable of course) should be looked at as being "a high requirement".

If anything I for one am ecstatic that it is sealed to the public so that then none of us will have to bear witness to their pompous little circle-jerk.

Last time I visited the site, there was a notice saying they were migrating servers. It's taking them long, though, since I just got that message again.

That could apply to a few other trackers I'm thinking of right now...

I think it's too rare, even for them. Never ever seen a single trade thread anywhere for this tracker, only known tracker that has been immune to it.

No, they did some site improvements. Now the site will show a browser error if you aren't l33t enough to be a member.

Good you can never do too much to prevent the people who you view as inferiors from joining anything you belong to imo .
As a child I actually went as far as erecting an electrified fence around my sandbox which ironically is a good metaphor here.

Isn't Skittles closed?

You should take relativistic approach on this sensitive matter: it's not "closed", it just became less available than ever.

This caused me to look at the screenshots which in turn made me laugh.
"Our invites are made to be freely given to people that you know and trust". Yeah sure just as long as those people fit into the staff's narrow perception of "acceptable". Or maybe I've got it entirely wrong and the reason that the invites only went out to the usual band of bt elitist is that the already "in" bt elitists are just fucked in the head that way.

No offense to said idiots.

I laughed at the "Our goal is to get new members here...it is not our goal or desire to deny invite requests". I guess they're doing a good job meeting their goal, as last I heard Skittles is growing steadily and is just a bastion of community activity.
