I have used both but at present i only use Spybot. I ran Adaware then straight after i ran Spybot and it found loads more crap. So i am assuming Spybot must be better?

Lavasoft (AdAware) has been somewhat lax in it's updates lately, so your results don't surprise me.
IMO Spy Sweeper is the best.

SS&D is the best. But I use AAW6 also.

I prefer spybot to adaware myself, after I first used spy-bot, I never used adaware again.

I dont like having two pieces of software on my h/d doing similar jobs, i would rather save my h/d for music/movies, so i want to know which one is best. On the subject of best software which reg cleaner do you use?

One of them finds something other one misses.

Run them both for max security

I've use Adware 6.0 Professional and Spybot search and Destroy

Same here. In fact Spybot detected Adaware as spyware, so I got rid of it. Besides, Spybot can do a lot more other things than Adaware (at least the version I had).
