Lamsey
10-17-2003, 07:25 PM
For those of you who haven't checked The Lounge Radio (http://www.the-lounge.us)'s Events Calendar (http://www.the-lounge.us/events.php), Lamsey's Guitar Riff Show is now playing live!

This is the first in a series of shows in which I'll be exploring the various elements that can make a great rock song. This week, we're having a slew of tracks with great guitar riffs. Next week, we'll be looking at lyrics.

If anyone has any messages they'd like to hear read out, or even a (very small) mp3 they'd like played, send an email to and thy will shall be done.

So, at 8pm GMT, tune in and enjoy! :) --> http://207.218.251.161:8000/listen.pls

I will be able to listen to some of the show mate and will do so.

However I have to go get number 2 son from Tae Kwon Do. So unless you can broadcast simultaneously on Radio Clyde I will miss some of it.

If you are recording it anyway can you share on SoulSeek. Then I can get to hear the rest. At 48kb or whatever presumably the file wont be shooj.

Lamsey
10-17-2003, 07:50 PM
I'll share it, yeah.

If anyone wants any announcements read /mp3s played, send 'em in quick please.

Another classic.

The one way you can improve on this so far is to have Gary Moore, the live version of Parissiene Walkways, from Ballads and Blues.

Good Show Lamsey!!

Not only does he do announcements and take requests he troubleshoots for fogeys that can't manage on their own. I forget so much every day, but I don't mind relearning. I couldn't find the url input for winamp, PM Lamsey and he takes time to get me straightened out. Not only that but he offers up an alt proggie.

So hats off to you, Lamesy. I'm listening on QCD and have got winamp to work as well. Not bad for first day on the job!!

Thank you, Lamsey!

Anna!Annamiller! shall be mine yet!.

BTW, it was an interesting show...we disagree over what constitutes a guitar riff song - for instance I would say Voodoo Chile by Hendrix IS and The Rembrandts IS NOT- but I salute your effort.
Gonna get flamed for this, but I'm not a big Hendrix fan

@Sonja: never got it :(
That's weird, I'm sure I sent it to the right address and I got no error message....maybe you'll get it later on

ok, now I want to know for once and for all; is it 'voodoo chile' or 'voodoo child' ????
Skweeky,

The only hard copy I have shows it as "Voodoo Child".

I learn something new everyday...

Lamsey, again, good job and thanks.
Now about not liking Hendrix....

I would define a 'riff song' as one that guitar players learn just to play that part, the rest of the song is almost irrelevant. Think "Satisfaction" by the Stones ( has to be THE classic riff song) or "Heartbreaker" by Zeppelin....

Well if that's the case - I'm gonna see Darker about the "dead air time" crap he's been spouting ;)

Dead air time = if you signup for 2 hours and there is a slot after you - meaning that the second dj cant just continue and take the listeners over without buffering :)

Then it does suck if a show is set for 2 h and there is 30 mins dead air :)
