how come b4 when i downloaded file i was propted with where to save or open etc. now when i got to download all it does is come up with a page full of ASCII code?? help please :(

I am not sure, but doesnt it have a "view" option as well. Somehow do you have that setup as default so its actually trying to view the file instead of downloading which results in the display of junk codes.

You either have a virus in ur pc, or browser hijack or a simple file association issue.
