who's your provider?

ISP > Astraweb Premium

My ISP is grateful enough to provide its customers with a Usenet service. They used to gateway to Giganews too but users bitched about retention and didnt see the point to gateway two USP's. I think Astraweb was cheaper back then too?

EDIT: It's very rare you see a ISP in Australia provide this service including binary downloads, Your quota is the quota you have with the plan.

eg. 50GB plan you can use that quota to download on Usenet.

Even when you're shapped you can still leech.

Shapped = Speed capped to 64kbps speeds for the rest of the billing month for going over your quota plan...just to let you know if you're from .eu or .jp :P

WOW!

Are you serious?

I thought most ISPs in civilized countries had dropped that years ago.

We had something like that when xDSL first arrived but it's 2010 for gods sake.

I'll help you get a job and move to Norway any time. You've deserved it!

There are a few ISP's that offer 'Unlimited' plans, but they don't last very long. I think the most recent unlimited plan is by AAPT for $100/mo. Want to know the catch? Not many people in Australia can even get ADSL2+ :P

My ISP offers a ADSL (1500/256) unlimited plan for $159.95/mo without any bundles. Mind you I love my ISP, they offer excellent customer support and the owner/isp staff are active on many forums.

$160 AUD/month for 1500/256, wow :D.

Oh well, Australia is a big country I guess, but still ... Do you have those lame caps in the big cities over there too?

Oh and sorry for the off topic :S

Yeah Astraweb is over 500, so is Giganews....I've never had issues grabbing old stuff from Astra, that's all I get it seems like...

500 Days I think is only in certain groups at Bintube...

Binsearch is hit and miss right now..

And NZBi is at 405 roughly in some groups: http://www.nzbindex.com/groups/
