You know how a team can send the goalie up on a corner kick towards the very end of a game.....has a goalie that was sent up ever scored a goal ever in the history of futbol/soccer? I can't seem to find any video ever showing a goalie scoring a goal on a corner kick? If a goalie nevers scores..why even send him up?

José Luis Chilavert has scored plenty of goals, but i think they might all have been frre kicks and penalties.

Just remembered this one as well.

I'm sure there's a lot more, my memory doesn't go back to far and I didn't put much thought into it.

The Jimmy Glass goal was rather important.

For one moment of magical madness. On the final day of the 1998-99 season Carlisle United needed to beat Plymouth at home or lose the Football League place they had held for 71 years. Five minutes into stoppage time the score was 1-1. Carlisle's goalkeeper, on loan from Swindon, was Jimmy Glass. Carlisle won a corner. Glass ran the length of Brunton Park to score the winner with one second to spare. The Cumbrians were saved and Scarborough were relegated to the Conference.

Google for Sporting-Twente, preliminary champions league round 2009/10.
Rui Patricio scores a header on the last minute too, sending sporting to the next round.

There is a long list of goalkeepers who have scored. You can see them at this. Including one keeper who scored 85 goals.

I remember the Peter Schmeichel one.

It's not just a case of if the goalkeeper scores or not, the sheer presence of having the keeper in the opposing penatly box quite often unsettles the defenders so that they miss someone else coming in to score....

However it's equally likely that the defending team will break away and score themselves into the empty net. It's a gamble that sometimes pays off, like any gamble.

Why a goalkeeper runs up the field during a corner kick is because the ball often get loose and has a tendency to going up the field so the defenders and even the goalie run up the field to put pressure on the defending team, sometimes the goalies like to show off and score.

You can't argue with that kind of analysis.

Here's Artur Boruc scoring a penalty btw

Here is one by Colombian goal keeper Miguel Calero, paying for one of the best teams in Mexico, el Pachuca;
this time they were playing my team 'Chivas de guadalajara' and as the narrator says in spanish, the game is about to end at that point.
Calero always does that kind of crazy stuff, so there are quite a few great moments in Mexican 'futbol' because of him.
