View Full Version : Kazaa Users Vs. Kazaalite Users

I find myself getting cut off from kazaa users all the time cuz i use my "do not show my list" option thing (cuz, sharing over 50movies, and 800+songs, I don't really feel like being served a lawsuit from the RIAA or MPAA). If i'm on and watching, i tend to cut off any regular kazaa users with PL from medium to low. btw- does regular kazaa have that option of "not showing entire list"??

What is the deal w/ Kazaa Users...do they love that damn monkey pet or whatever i forget damn thing that much, to be able to deal w/ all them pop-ups???

I wonder that also, don't they see so many kazza lite users, I mean for years you could just goggle and find out about it, now its little harder but I would track it down

/curiosity makes you learn things

I was reading someone's personal website today. They said on the site that they were using the regular KMD, and that they hated all the popup ads and spyware in it.

So I sent the owner of the website an email to tell them all about K-Lite !! :D

once in a while when i monitor the uploaders, i send them a message about kazaalite, with the url and everything....but 3 outta 4 times they're not accepting messages. i guess i would shut that feature off too if i constantly got annoyed by spam messages that sounds so much like an actual user but only contains urls to "meet new friend" or "porn". :D

It's probably just a coincedence that u are getting cut off from kazaa users because I doubt everyone checks to see if u are sharing because I have always lost sources even when I used to use kazaa.

You can't.

You won't know if they are ACTUALLY not sharing or just using the privacy patch.

KMD does have the option to hide the list of shared files. I think they added that in version 2.5

I don't understand what you mean. I sent the boy an email because I thought it would help him if he could use K-Lite instead of KMD.

What's the problem with that?

I very rarely see peoples shared folders these days - i guess everyone is using the latest version whether KMD or K-Lite.
Just keep sharing folks !!

Its a real pity so many switch of that messaging option. would make direct trading of files much easier

If i notice a regular Kazaa user, with a really 'low' rating, I check to look for a file list, and if I find none, i cancel them, and send a message (which usually doesn't get through)

I figure if they've got a really low PL rating they do no sharing besides maybe occasionally leaving a file they just downloaded in their directory.

and if this non-sharing ordinary kazaa (KMD) user continues to download, then i just cancel their download again, and temporarily remove the file from my shared directory

Not gunna waste my bandwidth to some foolish KMD user who doesn't even share

It's funny you should bring this up as it always happens to me as well.
I let uploads run all day long to K-Lite users but ordinary KaZaA users with no shared files can squat and rotate!!
I always message them with a parting shot of download K-Lite and you can have my files :D

be sure - I want cut you if you "did not show your list" - I for my self
share my files & thoughts openly to understand each other better. Although
it is a nice to see other ppl's lists sometimes I cannot expect that of you cause
you are just humans as well. So also if you share no files, I would not cut you off,
although I wuold be glad if you would share the files you downloaded :)

~nice dreams...

Yep, if you're sharing more than about 2,000 files you BETTER turn on the hide shared files option or EVERYTIME someone tries to list your files it overloads YOUR connection. It's gotta UPLOAD a copy of all the filenames, file sizes, probably Kazaa hashes, file details, etc. Figure at least 1 KB (or more) per 10 files -- so 2,000 files = 200 KB = 20 seconds at 10 KB/sec!
(In short, it's an 'expensive' feature!)

I had close to that much for a bit, when I had some hundreds of comic book scans, with a jpg for each page (plus music, movies etc). Lost em all with my last reformat, down to 1500 files now ;-/

But if that was 35,000 mp3s, that dude's gotta be one of the RIAA's top targets.

I dont care if ppl not sharing wanna hog my bandwidth
After I only have kazaa on when Im not at my PC and I dont have a bandwidth cap, so why should I care???

Anyway we all started off as a leacher to get our first files
