I am listening to it for over a decade now.
My favourite bands are: Strung out, No use for a name
Lagwagon, Adhesive, Satanic surfers, ...

more aggresive. As I know, hardcore punk bands are less melodic ...

I listen to bands like Stick to Your Guns and The Ghost Inside, I think that's more melodic hardcore though.
