Far from turning men into sex beasts, as feminists feared, mass porn has killed their libido and their ability to relate to real women, writes Naomi Wolf

From spam e-mails that bring lurid sex scenes to innocent computer users to Channel 4’s Pornography: the Musical, which airs on Tuesday evening, porn is mainstream.

Its de-sensitization.

It happens all the time think...death on the news, swearing, nudity, homosexuality. They have all become less shocking and more accepted particularly when portrayed visually as familiarity may not only breed contempt but also apathy.

PORN RULES...

no i agree, it is fucking dumb. I mean remember the days when people had to fucking pay some bum to buy them a girly mag to peak at under the covers at 1 in the morning with a flashlight. now u can get all that and more in less than a second...

although this gives men the upperhand in holding off.. no sex until you make me breakfast etc.. you can just watch porn until they give in.

Depending how far back in time you want to go, homosexuality was an accepted practice.

Generally speaking, sex isn't nearly as important to women as it is to men, so I don't believe that you'll be able to get a free breakfast out of it. ;)

is it maybe worth noting to that some people really feel porn has added to our society, with increased sexual awareness, increased freedom of expression and some extremists arguing it can actually lower rape

Personally I don't argee with those views and feel, as many have point out it is desentisation process, and i think maybe as Wolf argues sex is key in the our social structures, at one point arguing words to the effect that healthy sex between parents cements the family unit, though admittedly it is probably easier to preach on the dangers of porn than to actively avoid it

It also thought it was fair comment about homosexuality that it isn't a new phenomen, notably the Greeks (in ancient times way i add so as not to offend any one) where all quite openly bi-sexual with girls for the babies and boys for fun, through perhaps the difference now is that homosexuality is no longer cultural community but a global one and maybe this was to point the early post was trying to make

Edited for spelling and it probably still sucks

I don’t believe porn is wrong, I believe it is questionable practice and the later many consequently be proved true, but I do feel porn robs the user of something what do you guys feel, does it take away anything and if it does what is it that it takes away, I would argue in the long run simply the natural ability to relate (though some would argue its a greater ablity to express themselves)

EDIT: content (last line added) and spelling, damn i am crap at it
