What would the top speed of a 100cc light weight motorcycle be? Would it have pretty good acceleration?

I think it depends on more than the details you've given...

erm....Jonno?

If your selling 80. If your buying 60. (Not sports bikes)

How long is a piece of string?

You can have a bog standard GP100 that will pull maybe (If Thrashed and never run right again) 70-75mph, on the other hand if you done some converting to a RD100 (Very Rare) and file the Reed down and put a can on it you maybe pull a ton if you're lucky but it will bugger the engine.

It also depends on you're size but as for Accelaration.......They are ok but without being nasty, after having a XV1100 they don't seem to move at all

To answer your question properly I need to know what bike you are talking about????

Well it depends on wind and if your going down hill.
If your fat then a 100cc bike wont go very fast at all, your probably get 20 Mph
But if your a slim jim them your get about 60 ~ 80 max on a good run with no wind ahead, If you lower your body in the shape of an arrow then you should get max speed.
try mixing the fuel with Aircraft Jet Fuel, to give an extra boost

I dont know if you know anything about this motorcycle but its the Honda Wave 100. There going to be selling brand new for $500 in the US next year. Its like 150 pounds plus my 180 pounds. So how fast do you think it would go.

Without being patronizing to you, If all you are concerened about is how fast it will go then I advise you to stick with a pushbike, because with that attitude you will kill yourself or someone else.

If you are wanting one of these then you need to realise that until you can handle it properly you are nothing more than a loaded gun in a shaky hand.

If you know how much it is then you should know the stats too.

Get a 50cc, it's more suited

Oh Sorry.........Well having looked about quick and seeing the the bike I would say 70 mph tops.........doubt you would get any more out of it.

I will go have another look and see what I can find ok

Jonno B)

Edit........No I can't find it but I will stick to my first guess and say it will be stressed over 55-60mph and may just push 70-75mph but will be comfy at 50mph :)

Ok thanks jonno. I dont need to go any faster than 50-55 any ways. I ride my moped every where,in the first 2 months i had it I put on 3,000 miles on it and its top speed is 45.

Thats cool, no probs dude B)

Enjoy it but be careful..........it's too easy to miss a split second.......been there, been face to face with a bus at 60 mph and missed it by a foot

I don't think so.

In fact it would probably make your bike run worse.

Jet fuel is basically kerosene with a bunch of additives in it to make it stable at the altitude/temperatures that a jet encounters.

Your bike probably doesn't cruise at 55,000 feet too often.

That may be, but if you weighed nearly 300 lbs. it would still be faster than walking...

a 'little' off topic, but i just thought i'd reply anyway
basically, it's a comparison of a motorbike and an F1 car.

the motorbike was a standard Yamaha R1 (1999).
It's acceleration times were:
0-30mph: 1.7 seconds
0-60mph: 3.2 seconds
0-100mph: 6.1 seconds
100-0mph: 5.5 seconds

The F1 car was a Jaguar R3 F1 car
It's acceleration times were:
0-30mph: 1.5 seconds
0-60mph: 2.71 seconds
0-100mph: 4.02 seconds
100-0mph: 1.68 seconds

when you consider the bike costs less than £10,000 and the car costs £1.6 million+, i'd say that was pretty impressive...

oh, i forgot to mention the bike did it's times in damp conditions too!

But the poor thing carried me for 8(!) years.......

Quite an achievement for a vespa, don't you think??

Btw. now i'm getting all nostalgic over this period......

A full tank for 4 dollar...

No traffic jams...

Me and my girl on two(!) vespa's on holidays.....

All the respect(read: total disbelieve...) people showed me for driving to work when it was 20 degrees below zero.......(45 min. drive....)

The wind in my hair......(about twenty fines for driving without helmet).....

It felt sooo free....(& geeky....)

But those days i was young......(duh...i drove that thing till i was 36(!!!!!))
