Which server, as there are multiple.

The US Astraweb was bad all day yesterday, to the point I switched to the EU/Amsterdam server, which ran fine for the last 24+ hours (although the hop count is ridiculous from my location, halfway around the globe, 20+).

You probably need to do some ping/tracert and see if it's your ISP, or some router out there between you and the server you are connecting to.

I noticed my speeds were shaky on the us ssl a day or so ago, but it only lasted a little bit. I always seem to max out my line (10mb)

tried the us the eu and the news servers with ssl and without it seems ok now at the moment getting getting 1800 KB/s so hopefully it may have sorted itself out

I noticed this too. I though someone was stealing my Wifi WEP but I checked my connections and everything was empty. I then tried to speedtest from a different server and it was maxing out...not with astraweb.

I do 3600KB/s

Been running 100%+ (nice, smooth, fast) on the us/SSL server for at least through the last 3+ days. All gather you're sucking off the EU server...?

Yah I've been full speed all morning on the US ssl. (1.2 mb/s)

Speeds have been constantly jumping around from 250-500 kbs today
I normally get a constant around 900kbs

using the euserver

sounds like it may be the EU servers having issues.

One never knows, given the path and the particular server.

At the top of this thread (a week ago) I was having a bit of variance with the US server, so much so I switched to the EU for some 12+ hours or so. Then when I switched back, it (the US) was running just fine.

Of course, if this had all happened in the middle of the night, I'd have probably never noticed!

Stuff happens, it all depends if you notice it!

Well I use the SSL EU server and did not switch to the US server. Speeds are back to full throttle now on EU. Yes I guess things happen, I have no real complaints with Astrawebs excellent service.

I use the USA SSL server pretty much daily and haven't had any issues since I signed up over a year ago.

The default SSL server always maxes my connection just fine.

i was having some speed issues with astra web, great service speed is ok compared to giganews,

tried both EU and US servers and speed wise is about 200kb/s less then giganews.

though pricing is good so ill stick with astra

Both with ssl aswell

I can't get the USA ssl server to work at all, any ideas anyone?

SSL servers are different then just news.astraweb.com

Secure Server:
ssl.astraweb.com Ports 443 or 563

ssl-eu.astraweb.com Ports 443 or 563 (European)

ssl-us.astraweb.com Ports 443 or 563 (US)

Works fine with SSL. You can try to change server once in a while.
