I just started using this newsreader and I absolutely love it. It looks great, is very easy to use, very functional, can search binsearch, etc. It can even post (though SSL posting support is forthcoming). Definitely a great free alternative to alt.binz.

I just tried this on my computer running Windows 7, and it was pretty horrible. I was getting nowhere near my usual speeds, 1MB instead of 50, and the software froze twice. It would keep downloading, but I wouldn't be able to click on anything and had to end task both times. I'm looking for a newsreader to replace my Alt.Binz, as Alt.Binz seems to be really unreliable auto unraring files, but this didn't really do it for me.

I used it for a minute and it seems nice. I like the UI. First download I tried seemed like the speeds were a little low but I stopped it a started another and it took off like I'm used to seeing so maybe it was just astra.

Not seeing the speeds I used to get. It's quite interesting that's for sure. I will wait for a bit more updated build.

Looks promising, thanks! :) Currently using Newsbin. Does this only work with NZB files or also as a general Usenet downloader?

Been using this for nearly two months and love it. Only downside is lack of newsgroup subscription features such as file lists for said groups.

I installed this yesterday, and initially I LOVED it. It has a couple of show stoppers for me though, unfortunately.

1) It insists on running as an admin on Win 7 x64 Ultimate, meaning a UAC prompt every time you open it. Annoying!
2) It can't handle high WAN speeds. :( Here's my throughput on a 50 meg cable line.
3) They really need to sort out their MB and Mb; they're different things!

As you can see it just can't keep up, constantly spiking and falling in speed. I've tried setting it to lower and higher priority for decodes, but no luck. It's a shame, as otherwise I'd probably have started using it exclusively, and donated. Definitely one to keep an eye on though; thanks for the heads up!

I seem to be having the same problem it can't keep up speed wise,
not to crazy about the interface ether everything else works very well I wish someone would come up with a free open source newsreader similar to NewsLeecher I would really love to see that guess I am only dreaming :( Don't get me wrong it works very well nice program
