If you cant find any info on the net about them and are scared of a scam then use some common sense and stay away from the,.Look elsewhere, there's a lot of good deals to be had these days and really it best to stay with the popular ones

You can get a windows licence from as little as £10.99 on ovh servers with some providers.

have you bought the server yourself or through a reseller?

Hi Shadow,

This is the owner of visumalchemia.com and the Remote Windows installation services.

A customer of mine who has become a good friend told me about this thread and I thought I'd come and shed some light.

I can understand why you would be scared - there is a lot of scam online these days and one cannot be too cautious.

Let assure you that this is not the case here.

I am a known member (http://forums.ovh.co.uk/member.php?u=1622) at the OVH forums. My services were introduced in this thread (http://forums.ovh.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3091) and since then I have had many happy customers.
One particular thread that comes to mind where I have been vouched for is this one (http://forums.ovh.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3943). Busby has been a member at the OVH forums long time before me and he has been a repeat customer of mine.

Also, I offer a moneyback guarantee - if I cannot complete the install, you get your money back. Not only that but the transaction is performed through Paypal and you are protected from their end also.

Last but not least - you can check out the domain name whois - it's been there for years now and services other projects of mine which are now obsolete.

Let me know if you have any other questions that will help put your mind at rest if it's not already.

You can get a windows licence from as little as £10.99 on ovh servers with some providers.

So, since the installation with his own key is £25, after less than 2.5 months he will be saving £10.99.

This is the same as Kimsufi, OVH's budget line of servers. The Dutch version it seems. Not sure why it's not kimsufi.nl but the website is virtually the same!

a. The site mentioned is not a scam; they are listed on OVH-forums as well as "regular poster" so should be fine.

b. If you already got a Windows-license (a legal one, that is), you can add it to your OVH-account and install the corresponding version from their Control Panel. Not need to purchase license from OVH then.

c. Depending on the license, please keep in mind that you need TS-CALs as well for multiple users and that not every Windows version is suitable for the high-end servers (you cannot properly use 32-bit Windows on servers with 4GB RAM or more).

I can confirm he is not a scammer, I had him do a windows 2003 licence for me to test and he had it done for me waking up.

All he needs is access to your OVH Manager, and from there he can do it - you can't lose your server because you still own the nic so OVH would give the server straight back to you, and you don't lose data because it's a fresh install anyways.

brilliant everwicked, people should know about what you do - I take it you can do it with others servers and not only ovh?

Thanks for posting :)

Actually access to the manager is NOT necessary - I can do the job only using the rescue mode password and the server's IP. However, with repeat customers, they usually add me as technical contact on their server so that I do it all (including setting the server to rescue mode) for them.

Actually I did a Hetzner server a couple of days ago. Most servers are possible as long as they provide hard reboots - rescue mode is also very useful. If a server does not have rescue mode, it can still be done but I have to charge extra as it takes me a much longer time to complete.
