do they have a cord or an adapter that will let me do firewire or USB input with my Hi8 camcorder? i switched to digital8 but now i need my Hi8 footage. the tape doesn't work if you put it into the digital8 camera...i already tried. someone stole my analog capture card too so i can't capture that way.

anyone have any ideas??

If it has analog outputs only, than you will need to convert that signal to digital. This can be done with external or internal hardware. Check around locally and at the chain stores. There will be many different brands of hardware available.
(tigerdirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com) for example)

But, the best way, is to connect the analog camera to your digital camera.
Use the digital camcorder to convert the video into a digital format.
Than, upload the video to your computer.

Simple

..as long as the digital camcorder has some sort of analog inputs.
some have them, some don't.
