View Full Version : How 2 Instal Win 2000

hi

i got a prob when i try instaling win 2000 it dosent bootup!! i tryed (almost) evrything

nr 1 was when i had formated i restarted the computer and waited till it boots up by cd-rom (dident work id dos always work whit xp :S)

nr 2 was i typed A:setup in dos this also (dident work <- this always work whit win 98 :s)

nr 3 (the stupid way) i first instaled win98 then i upgraded 2 win 2000 (but im sure it must be bosible 2 do this another way)

has any1 any idea on how im supoosed 2 do this?

nr1 if you made burnt the cd did you make it bootable

nr2 its not win98...

nr3 look make some boot disks look in folder i think called tools boot from them.....

yea, most likely ur version of 2000 is the upgrade. i dled the upgrade for xp, and it just won&#39;t install on an empty hd. i was pissed. then i dled the full version of xp corp on suprnova.

i was gonna help but ur&#39;ve already been pointed in the right direction just in case

after you power up the computer with floppy disk you made off bootdisk.com

choose boot with cd-rom support

type d: or whatever is the drive letter of cd-rom
Notice: sometimes drive letter is moved up a letter so in that case d: would be e: for example
now you should be displaying d: at command prompt
now type setup.exe and setup should start

that looks like intructions for win95/98....

u just wanna make sure the bios has cdrom booting as the comp starts

just get bootdisks from bootdisk.com ;)
