SeX problems???

lol, I know the title but:

SeX was down for a while for maintenance (Apparently) and it came back so i decided to log in and it said Incorrect shiz, so I entered it again MAKING SURE that there was no spelling errors and it didn't work. So I went to reset pass with the email I signed up with, blah, blah ,blah... And it said email not found in DB!

Also there is no way I got banned or anything like that i think. I became a member only two days ago and have done absolutely nothing on SeX yet so, WHAT IS GOING ON????

Anyone else getting this problem?? Anyone got info on this?

And last, What's their IRC I can't remember it.

They rolled the site back to a backup from April 29th. If you signed up since then, your account is gone. Ditto with stats, torrents, pretty much everything.

Just out of curiosity, why have they rolled back to a backup?

Some issues are expected for a new site, granted, but slapping on a 2+ weeks old backup on such a new site - heavily into the recruiting stage - is quite a big loss.

Well I agree that starting fresh and aiming for a bigger userbase was better than keeping SCL going. But don't really see much point trying to start fresh with the same people. There isn't luck in running a tracker, and if your last tracker sucked, then you need a new staff team for your new site to not suck.

Why bother signing up for something when the odds are against it, and when the odds are that you're known enough to get an invite if the site actually does become something good in the future. You're just setting yourself up for many little disappointments, amirite?

Dude, You're right! Thought those days have long gone when signed up in a new "0-day'" tracker. Due to some unforeseen reasons, our server had a mini meltdown of sorts and our database had gotten corrupted to the point that we could not recover it. As a result of this, we are forced to roll back and use a slightly older backup than we would have liked to use and ALL accounts that were opened since 4/29 are lost. There is slightly silverish lining to this story, it appears that pretty much most of the site code was untouched. We know this comes at an awkward time as we were in the middle of open signups and moving forward from the "Beta" process. However, this is a minor set back and we will continue to move forward, we do apologize for the inconvenience. As an extra note: any torrents that you have downloaded during this time are also lost..

In short, if you created an account from 29th of April onwards, you need to re-signup. However, signups are closed for the "maintenance" period... in turn just wait.

I wondered the same thing and the only answer that I could come up with (and I'm not saying it's so but since it is a general tracker tell me if you can think of another)was that they by running a torrent site maybe they think they are "cool" by association.

Btw a have very few rules that I live by but one is that I am probably going to think that anyone who finds wit in naming something SeX or StealThatShit has the mentality of a 14 year old and not even an especially mature one.
And since I already have enough trouble dealing with those who are simply members on other sites I certainly don't need to belong to any place run by them.
