View Full Version : Norton Ghost 2003 Problem

I ve done a totally clean installation of my xp and now I want to back it up or clone it with norton ghost. But I think I can t do anything as I only have one partition on my HardDisk.
What should I do ? :o

there is a option to burn the backup files or copy them to another partition u choose burn them u need more then 3 cd's if ur backing up softwares too if not ull need 3 cd's only

yes I know. Thanks. But don t you think there s a way to clone it on my HDD ?

there is a way
if u cheak u can make a virtual HDD so u can put ur back up in it
there is a option in the menu to make virtual HDD

I finally choosen to burn the backup files on cds.
It worked apparently well but it s a bit strange cos my harddisk used space is 3.74 GB and the backup fit in only 4 cds.
So I m not sure if all my programs my setting and tweaks were saved. I wonder if I didnt just saved my OS and nothing more.
Could someone tell please. :huh:

i have never used ghost to back up before so this is a guess...maybe it uses compression?

Yes I already guessed it could be that. But I just wanted to be very sure :huh: .

Yup no more formating :lol: and spending hrs on installing windows, softwares and updating OS :P
