I hope elektronik R.I.P :)

If I had to place my hope on something, it'd be the staff reconsidering their decision and not closing the tracker.

It's a real shame to see it disappear, as it was a great resource for electronic music - personally one of my favorites. Does anyone know why they're shutting down, exactly?

Yeah, I read that, but it looks like I've missed what is obvious to other ELK members.

It was some kinda low on leeching activity, some unecpected downtimes in a row... These are the only 2 reasons I can think.
I just hope for Elk staff member to come here and just clarify the shit.

I really wonder what the obvious reasons were?.

EDIT-

More and more trackers have begun to disappear... Not good.

Edit: I automatically knew that this was going to be about their closure. Just look at the thread's title. ;)

My favourite and only site with a decent choice on EDM goes down. :(
Donations weren't the problem, something else was.

It hasn't been taken down yet, but as the announcement says all tracker-related functions are disabled. You can't even check your own profile.

I'm betting ultimately it'll just be a flurry of trading/requesting for the 'next best thing'

Sad to see another site going down though. Gonna be interesting reading all the conspiracy theories... just hope the truth comes out at some point.

rapidshare to download music is crazy

I do use warez-bb for all albums I'm very interested in, but single tracks I find myself ripping from youtube or downloading from frostwire..

I use that site all the time, when I don't have limewire/frostwire.

Just turn it down real low when your listening, and imagine it's a flac file.

Warez-BB has FLAC.

If you get any premium accounts, make sure they're from RapidShare and HotFile.

Their Unique Packs was like the best thing about elek.

Demonoid also works wonders for finding music files, at least enough to satisfy my paltry needs. And since the download is relatively small and completed quickly, many of the users that would have otherwise left after leeching the torrent remain on it for a quite a while, so the speeds are pretty decent.

And if you're looking to use WBB more frequently, you could always try uploading some stuff from your 0day trackers to RS and posting it on WBB, it wouldn't be long before you got a premium account for free.

And there's always Soulseek.

You'll have to keep your thread(s) well-bumped though - Warez-BB gets new stuff posted on it pretty much every second.

Maybe can you tell us something about SceneSound and VIPmusic? Do they cover all releases, how good and reliable their autobots are..?

Although it might not be completely similar, if you like grabbing radio shows and other sets, check out http://tribalmixes.com (my favorite for 3 years now, but there are others). It's not perfect if you want to download singles and retail releases to add to a collection, but its cool for throwing some music on in the background.

Am not a member Scenesound or VIPmusic. As for Satclubbing, its an EDM tracker.

Satclubbing has some insane packs.Monthly techno packs are upped out there.I find it much better to download monthly packs, then to download EP's and sorting them out.

I usually use Satclubbing for the packs.

Damn...not good news. It is disheartening to see a respected tracker die. :( I was a member there a couple years ago, and respected their community and know it's a loss to the users who solely relied on it for their edm music. A site that can hold you over on some releases is http://www.0daymusic.org/
I use it sometimes when I can't find a release I seen pre but not on any of the trackers im on for some reason. You have to usually wait for the rapidshare clock, but it works if you just need a few at a time. I think they also do premium FTP accounts too, but I would def check with someone else who has one of those before you give them money, as I don't know how legit they are as far as business goes.

Yes. This is their FTP offer: http://www.0daymusic.org/ftp.php

60 days = 65 Euro/ 95 $ :)

* IP logging: 1 IP address per user (You can use dynamic IP address, but remember: one IP at the same time!)

Take a look at their FTP: http://www.0daymusic.org/grafika/ftp/ftp.png
