Just download Opera or Mozilla and use them instead of IE

it depends on when ur copy of xp was made, most likely u can't get rid of it for good. besides, several software rely on IE as the min requirement. do what nostalgia said, i have firebird and works well for me.

go to control panel>add or remove programs>add/remove windows components and unclick IE then click next

If you really & truly uninstall IE. Your system will be messed up. Like others said you don't have to use it. Use another browser. I use Opera.

That would be my advice. Then go to Microsoft's website and download and install it again. That should fix whatever problems you are having. If not, then it's probably some other program that's causing it.

Maybe if you give us more details about the nature of the problem...

That don't uninstall IE completely like asked. It only removes access to IE from the desktop and Start Menu.

If you really want to uninstall IE, try searching the board for XPLite.

(I suggest you just leave it and use a different browser. Like posted before, removing IE can mess up your computer because so many applications rely on it.)
