phenomenal increase in the popularity and usage of bit torrent has raised a question whether http mode of file sharing will remain in the hunt or will torrent become the first choice of distributors?
last year some torrent indexing websites introduced a feature to download the torrent files through http even today sites like overget.is http more preferred mode of sharing files???
personally i hate rapidshare hotfile kinda thing but what do u guyes feel?

This is a bittorrent forum, so I doubt you'll get a wide range of responses.

Torrents don't make me wait before I can download (or between files), nor do I need a "Premium" account to get extra features (in the broader sense, in private trackers you'll sometimes get upload credit/invites as a reward for donating).

On the other side, in most cases you can always download at full speed from one-click hosters regardless of how old the file is, as long as it hasn't been deleted due to inactivity or copyright complains. There are also less security implications for uploaders, given the fact their IP won't be directly visible to other downloaders, and no ratio worries.

Torrents are more cost effective since hosting is divided upon thousands of users. I would also dare to say that torrents have better retention than most http downloads. On the other hand, it's a lot safer to download from http on the not getting settlement letters front.

If one can get into some good trackers like TL ,scc etc: then why should they buy premiums for HF or RS..?

I buy my hotfile premium and astraweb registration monthly. I don't think with the amount of data out there nowadays anyone can stick to only one mode of file sharing. Some of my favorite music rippers are housed on ddl's while some of the most prominent HD groups lay low in nzb's.

Trying to "live" on just one protocol is naive at best, and it just shows that you are actually around for a sense of elitism/piracy goodness rather than actual content, since I promise you, no matter who you are, torrenting definitely doesn't have everything you're looking for.

I use one-click hosters when I can't find what I look for in trackers, or the speeds are very slow. I wouldn't pay for Premium accounts, though - I don't mind waiting!
